so no britwell ah well

what about tamblin fields ,has the football club or the stst got in contact with the rugby club to consider a permanant share

there is plenty of room there for allsorts of activities maybe the council will help with planning permission to get the club of there backs

has anyone contacted tesco to try and get us a ground, they should be able to force the council to do something as they seem to be able to do what they like at the moment

has anyone spoken to the thorns in an officiall capacity about going back home

i think the answer to these would be no

so what have the stst and the club really been doing for the future of football in slough

laying asleep dreaming of a roman abramovich rather than getting of the proverbials and doing something about it'at least that would stop all the petty bickering with half wits at the council

"ps mars only sponsor international sports not local football,so why yeading"

It was a highly publicised game with a LOT of national interest, if not international. That's why.

As for the Trust, why don't you speak to Chris Sliski or Mike Lightfoot at a match. I'm sure they'll be happy to answer your questions. I hope to include more frequent updates from the Trust on their website (trust.sloughtownfc.net) over the next few days as well.

"well they done naff all for there own town football club"

Agree on that front. Add to that the majority of multi-national companies based in the Trading Estate. Honda, Slough Estates, Lonza, Celltech, Black & Decker, O2, Sara Lee. All have been notable absentees from sponsoring the club in any form. You could even add the local papers and radio into that as well, despite the varying levels of coverage they provide for us.

The station operates from the Slough Observatory shopping centre, but covers Windsor & Maidenhead in addition to Slough. Recently taken over by a new company I understand, hence the recent increase in STFC coverage which has appeared on the station.

This is the fans forum. Not a direct line to Martyn Deaner.

The Trust does not own the club. What exactly do you want the trust to suggest to the Rugby club? "Would you mind building us a stadium for conference level football? Obviously, you would need to raise the vast majority of the funds yourselves."

I really wish people would also stop going on about Wexham Park as a possible solution. The Thornes will not give us or the club what we need in terms of a lease. They are incredibly wealthy and can sit on the land until it is developable. They do not need a rent from a football club.

Although I dismissed the idea before, the rugby club could well be a good idea.

As far as I know they lease the pitches from SBC therefore the council could sell the land to a joint enterprise between the two clubs and grant planning permission.

Taxpayers would be gaining instead of losing and local residents can't complain about green areas being overdeveloped because nobody ever uses the land at the rugby club except for the players and the occasssional joy riders.

STFC could gain from a link up with SRFC because any development would possibly be eligible for grants from the RFU and Lottery funds. SRFC ticks nearly all the boxes for these sort of grants because they field childrens and ladies teams as well as men.

I think I read recently that Nuneaton RFC and Nuneaton Borough FC have just linked up and announced a joint stadium development at the current rugby ground, maybe we should look towards that and see if its viable for us.

As for the situation with FRUS and Mr Deaner we need to be very cautious and find an alternative backer ASAP. Easier said than done I know.

I can't understand why so many people believe Mr Dreamer has the interests of the football club at heart, what a load of rubbish. He only invested in the club because he thought he could use us as leverage with SBC to gain some land within the borough and then develop it comercially for a profit with a football stadium added to the side to keeep us happy. Obviously he got it all wrong and now realises SBC don't care about the club and will not give in to him.

Sooner or later he is going to cut his losses and walk away. Maybe there is some truth in the fact that he stopped the feasibility study because he realised he couldn't build a hotel and a football ground on the same site. I admit the council have caused us lots of trouble but maybe we should consider that Mr Dreamer is using the councils mistakes as cover up for his own failings and dodgy motives.

I agreee with the other poster that his absence during our recent cup run should be questioned.

I know they won't be answered here but I have some questions for Mr Dreamer

1.Why have you not attended some of the most important games in our recent history?

2.What action has beeen taken in forming the new board of directors?

3.When is there going to be a follow up meeting with the fans as stated at the end of the last one during pre-seaason?

4.Apart from rent and players wages how is the club running up a debt and who to?

5.Will we have a club next season?

Taking Mr Dreamer and SBC out of the equation, has anybody else got ideas on where in the borough there is enough space to build a football stadium?

Tuffley

The club will be running up a debt constanatly if FRUS (the club) have £650,000 of debt as this must be funded by a bank loan or similar and this would need the intrest servicing.

Intrest on £650K = £65K a year? - even the cup run would not cover that!

Therefore the only way that debt could be removed is to:

1. Pay it off - unlikly

2. Sell the club to another company - but FRUS keep the debt - possible but questionable business practice.

3. File for bankruptcy - but that would not be good for the Directors and then limit their ability to be involved with other companies.

The thing that concerns me is the uncertanty of who owns the club at the momment, is that Martyn Deaner and the other Directors mentioned recently or has there been a change in ownership/directors that we are unaware of.

Until these issues are resolved there needs to be great care in what commitments are entred into and who "partnerships" are forged with.

I personaly belive the club is not finacial able to support its self with the costs involved of setting up and running its own ground with the current income levels, and any way forward would need to be in partnership with another "organisation" such as the Rugby club mentioned.

These issues need resolving NOW as we will end up with yet another close season of doubt and risk splitting up a team which has so much potential.

Just to put the record straight, I work for Sara Lee and a few years ago, myself and a work colleague exhausted all avenues within the company to try and get them to sponsor Slough. They eventually agreed to cough up for a banner over a couple of seasons. Big deal you might say, but thats more than some companies have given. The truth is big multi-national companies want something for their money, and you do not become profitable by giving your money away. Ask any millionaire. When Sara Lee paid Beckham a million quid for their Brylcreem ads, sales went through the roof. In my opinion you are more likely to get more from smaller, family based companies, Lakes being a prime example. Be it a couple of hundred quid, it is still better than a poke in the eye with a pointed stick. I wonder if any other Slough supporters have asked their managing director to put their hand in their pocket. You might just be surprised at the answer. In this world if you don't ask you don't get.
