Censorship still needed Dave

I don't wish to be critical but I thought the new format was designed to weed out all this s*** (see 'easy money' posting) Most of us can still see right through these scams but there will always be a few gullible readers that fall for it, can the whole thing be erased and can we also erase the original poster to stop it happening elsewhere.

I agree - the problem is how do we vet new members - having membership prevents a lot of these idiots from getting through, and those that do, we jump on fairly quickly. Some sites approve all new members - question is though how could one tell who is genuine or not? Do we disallow all hotmail or yahoo accounts for example?

 

The post to which you refer to as gone, and the user banned.

 

We now ask for a valid email address, so anyone spamming does run the risk of loosing their account under their ISP's AUP.

 

There is very little that we can do in addition to what is already being done - but it is very unusual for these messages to exist for any more than a couple of hours, before either the board moderator, or myself spots and deals with the post.

 

If you or anyone else has any suggestions please let me or Dave know, and we will see what else we can do - but rest assured we do try to act quickly on these type of posts.
