...no you can't win 'em all and once again, we didn't. You have to go back to Yeading / Leyton league games in August for games where we lost two on the bounce and even though the performance's for the Folkstone and Heybridge games were a vast improvement, we struggled to finish off the amount of chances we created. Some would point out that it is January and historically as a club we always have a slump but this is a new era and time to change these trends.

 

The brightest light out of last nights game was our no. 11 John Simmons. He shone in the first half and although faded in the second still played well with a cracking free kick. Get 'em on target and we'll have our own David Beckham. Tom Poole also gave further indication of his talent and control and with a bit of experience, is certainly one to hold onto.

 

Reflecting on the game, Heybridge didn't so much beat us as we beat ourselves. The two goals, one in each half, were down to mistakes in defence. Maybe the team had half a mind on Saturday's game against Exeter.

I believe that most of them had Saturday on their mind which gave Heybridge their chance. Hopefully on Saturday Exeter will have Man U on their mind and all ours will be up for it and we get the result we want.

Moment of the match had to be young Tom Poole giving Kimble a clump. As for all this 'having a mind on saturdays game' is crap. Surely you should be having a mind on the game you're playing in?
