John Kirby. ditto your sentiments to the club. But only having lived in East kent for the last 9 years and having worked away from home for 4 of those i had only heard of the conservitive maladministration in this area and how, so people have told me they played the fiddle (perhaps like nero) <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />as thanet decended into depression. As a conservative voter all my life i took it all with a pinch of salt,choosing to believe it was only bad feeling. Along came labour, things seemed to be getting better but like the present govenment they tried to be everything to all men. Once again we had a change and the Cons where back in power.I Know believe all the stories i had heard. I for one will never vote for them again and have washed my hands.though nor shall i vote for the others as i am disalussioned with the lot. If the worst happens this week then we shall need to come together and talk through our next moves. Margate football club must have a future. Over the next few days we shall finally be able to see all of the snakes in the grass. Perhaps with the Freedom of Information Act and a Judicial Review most of what appears to be a wilful conspiracy to deny the redevelopment will be revealed.

what a shocking state of affairs this is, the margate football fans not knowing what is the real truth behind the ground build.

allthough plenty of updates have been given on whats going on, I for one and probably most other fans would like to know the real,real truth.

Is the package put before the council not adequat, why,not? when its been put together by a professional team of people who have the finances to see it through to completion.what for god sake is the problem,? could it be cash strapped Thanet council realised some time ago what a money maker it would be for them to have control of the site thus reposession was a word always in the back of their minds,? stalling for time in hope the club would starve to death of a finacial kind enabling their devious plan to come to fruition.

Or could it be the developer/funders are not as professional as was first thought,?.

whatever the hold up is, something really stinks about this whole situation.

I feel so sorry for all the many margate football club supporters especially those who travel away giving the team much needed support and giving margate football club and the town of margate a good name, well done to all,also my admiration goes out to the office staff and groundsman whom have kept everything going for the last couple of seasons,it must be a very trying time not knowing if you have a job or not,well done.

Come on thanet council its only a football ground,every town has got one, why not margate?, think of the sporting community and the youngsters who have sporting ambitions ,with a youth section at a new ground it would take a lot of kids off the streets and make them proud to be playing for their home town. I was.

As one of the postings suggests above, what we need to know is why the council is making the recommendation to withdraw from negotiations.

 

TDC would not make that recommendation without being able to substantiate it.

 

We need to know the reasoning behind it.

They have to make reasons public, so on what wil be a difficult and emotional night, if it is not made known beforehand, could someone listen carefully to the reason for their decision on thurs. night

I know this may be locking the stable door after the horse has bolted, but Have you ever thought of organising politically, ie form the Margate Party and stand against all the councillers who have not supported you at the next local election,I am sure your fan base is larger than any of the local parties staff, with all those people mobilised against the council in the key seats.Of course you may have to let the national parties organisations know what is going to happen.No national party likes bad publicity and the smell of possible corruption leading up to a national election in the near future.Whatever you decide good luck, as i feel you have been taken for a ride.

A few posts back Stan got in on the button.The council has,thru MFC hard work seen how much money they can get by taking this over themselfs,devious backstabing bast;;;s the lot of them.We really need someone to look into this as Im sure the council will think after a few weeks the dust will settle and be forgotten.

Really sorry to hear about what's going on. Been thinking what I'd be like if it was my club, but then realised it doesn't even bear thinking about.

I hope everything works out, and fight on to the end. You really should use the Freedom of Information Act to get as much out of the council as they hold. you'll find all the truth.

I can't help getting the feeling that one or more of the councillers own or are a director of a building company or that someone if most of them are being paid off.

 

A football club belongs to the town, even if the land is owed by someone else and someone is looking at thier own back pocket.

 

I just wonder what would have been done if Margate had got through to the FA Cup 3rd round

First off I'm sure all Dover fans want Margate to go bust, have no ground and that all the council decisions go against them/ Employ CK and most of their squad.

 

The councillers are all decent blokes who in the best intentions of Thanet are doing the right thing.

 

There you go, an honest response from an honest fan.

 

And besides, CHATHAM GARY, WTF are you supporting Margate for, when you have Chatham or Gillingham
