Margate Football Club and their Project Team have a meeting arranged with the key figures of Thanet District Council tomorrow afternoon which the Club understood should have been the final opportunity to clarify any outstanding issues remaining with the redevelopment project, prior to the Officers report being made to Members ahead of Thursday nights Cabinet meeting.

However, we have subsequently discovered that the report to Members has already been made and are in receipt of a copy. The future of the Club will be decided once and for all by the Cabinet on Thursday evening when they make their final decision on the recommendations of the Council Officers to withdraw from any further negotiations with MFC/Gary Lever and move to terminate the lease in order to take back the land into Council control.

The Council then propose to put together their own Project Team, their own development brief and offer their package into the open market for expressions of interest.

If members of the Cabinet approve the recommendation of the officers, the decision will immediately have the following effects:

1. The Football Conference have formally notified the Club that unless they can guarantee to return to Hartsdown Park by the start of next Season it would be in breach of the terms of its membership and would be immediately suspended from the competition. The Club would therefore be forced to resign from the league and as such would not be able to fulfil any further fixtures.

2. The Club Directors being unable to justify the Company continuing to trade under the Insolvency Act, would apply to liquidate their affairs.

3. Gary Lever/CNC would issue legal proceedings against the Council for not acting in good faith

4. The Club would formally issue a complaint to the Ombudsman seeking an immediate enquiry into the actions of the Council.

5. The decision would signal the end of senior football at Hartsdown Park and any proposal being projected by Thanet District Council would see any new Club being formed, playing at only county level.

A press conference has been called for 4:30pm on Wednesday, which will be attended by the Development Team at Hartsdown Park, and the Directors will be faced with making final decisions on Friday morning after the Cabinet meet.

So this is really it! I wish all those employed by MFC luck. Alot of luck. If the council mess this up, one demonstration might just be a tip of the iceberg. I ABSOLUTELY HATE the council with a passion, and the day they are out of power will be the sunniest day in Thanet for a very long time indeed!

Good Luck MFC.... We need You!

Feel depressed and am shaking with anger.S*ndy has just left my place of work and tried to confront him with a printout of statement to get his comments but just missed him. Asked some bloke Mike Gilbertson-who he? if he knew anything and he said the council leader was the only one who could shed some light on this. I think we already know what he wants. Feel the absolute worst now.

Sandy drinks in the Lanthorne pub in Broadstairs on Sunday lunch times if anyone would like some answers.

Please attend on Thursday and if nothing else give it our final farewell. Lets all meet ,shake hands with each other sing thse songs etc and show them the heartbreak they have caused.

"SO SO MUCH HATE". Sorry but thats what I feel.

The council have provoked us and whilst it cannot now be guaranteed I sincerely hope my feelings and those of others dont stoop to their level on thursday. Although they have dealt all of us a MAJOR blow we will not retaliate unless they are in words. Whatever league we are in or will one day be in again, be sure of this, this council is in the lowest league of all. What comes around goes around. They have made the biggest mistake of their lifetime and it is they who have to live with their consciences.

What a treacherous bunch TDC are. I had a feeling that they were doing some dastardly deeds behind the backs of everyone else.

It's OUR Margate fc I want, not their pale imitation.

All our achievements for nothing - not to see our team again? Unthinkable, surely something still remains to be done?

I hope that any future action by the club shows these snakes up for what they are. It's up to the electorate to punish them appropriately. Or if there is any justice in this world, a judicial review and ombudsman could do it.

It's the INJUSTICE of the whole thing and just having to take it. I'm so insensed that I could'nt even parellel park my car properly just now after work. Having had to see the smug b*stard laughing and joking after he kept sneaking out of todays laughingly so called "local strategy meeting" to talk to some KCC big wig-who told me S*ndy was the only person who could answer any questions about the football club. I tried to ear-wig on the conversation which was about a lease of some sort but whether it was to do with us I did'nt hear. I do wonder why they hired a private boardroom for this meeting instead of using the council offices( Christ Church College if you're wondering).

Perhaps a dynamic up and coming reporter could find "the corruption in the local council story" not that that would be news though. Sorry if I'm idly rambling but punching this keyboard is better than punching the wall or S*ndy(though that's what I feel like ) and having had to spend this afternoon of all afternoons watching the [****!!****] acting smug and arrogant and planning his next BENT wage packet without any recourse has made me numb.

How can he continue to live in OUR area when he's just lining his own pocket and clearly does'nt give a sh*t about ordinary folk (we already know the other contentious issues).

My main fear is he will have creamed off so much in dodgy stuff when he gets voted out he'll have gotten what he wants and won't be bothered.Someone PLEASE get this man his comeuppance. Is their not one member who has the b*llocks to speak out loud that something is WRONG.
