Hx Update

Neither Gary Calder nor Mick Ewan have been sacked.

This morning the shareholders appointed three new Directors to the Board of HFC, Mr Brian Eagling, Miss Jennifer Cliff and Mr Jon Smith. As a result of those appointments, Mr Calder is considering his position as Chairman of HFC (he has been asked to continue) and in that respect we have a meeting with him in the morning.

Mick Ewan was an appointment made by Gary Calder and as far as we understand was never a member of staff. Apparently Mick Ewan walked out after hearing the news of the three new Directors and unless we hear otherwise we shall consider that he has resigned.

Gary Hill continues as Club Manager.

We exect the accountants report to be finalised by the end of this week and a full press statement will be issued at that stage. Quite clearly it is important that we are aware of 'insider' and 'disruptive posts' on other forums and remain fully supportive of the Club and its future.

Please also bear in mind that the appointments today have been made by the clubs owners with the best interests of the club and its future in mind.

Thank You

Karl Williams

I am sorry but this does not add up, why bring back Brian Eagling, he has never done anything for this club that Gary Calder could not do 100 times better. This is the end of the road for most of the fan base that this club has brought together, you will lose most of the people that have been loyal to this club over the last couple of months, the only reason that they have stayed loyal is because of what Gary Calder has done for this club, Mick Ewen has also done a fantastic job, all of this absolutely stinks. Why does this club keep moving people on who are doing a good job, it is a total joke. This club will now lose a great kit man, a great announcer and all of the people that help on match day. The post on the update just does not make any sense. People who have managed to keep this club alive since November 4th have been absolutely [censored] on and it is out of order totally.

Brian Eagling could not lace Gary Calders shoes

I should keep wise council if I were you and wait for the dust to settle. If you really care for this football club, as you frequently state that you do, then surely you would want the club to survive.

Todays actions give the club a chance of survival, yesterday there were none

As for Brian Eagling, well I understand that he was the clubs appointed representative to deal with the council only three weeks ago.

Whats changed Darren.

Don't worry Karl I do care about this club and you do know that, loads of people have walked away from this club and it would have been easy to do that but I never have, but I also care about the people who have been loyal to this club and I don't feel that there is any reward for what they have done for this club. But hey I am sure the appointed will take the club forward but I just think that a lot of people that really care will not be there to see it.

Hopefully GC will stay then as you say you have a meeting with him in the morning then lets hope there is a positive outcome.

I don't profess to knowing anything about the financial situation at the club or the board members or about the everyday running of the club. I will say this I'm sure the newly appointed members will do their very best to take the club forward. However personally I think it is essential that GC stays around. There is a word banded aroud alot these days in football, 'passion', and I think GC shows a lot of 'passion' for this club and that along with his professionalism is what is needed.

Why easy to walk away....?

Surely 'caring' for something is unconditional, we did what we had to do to ensure the clubs survival...as for your dad and max...they'll make their own decisions and we'll respect that.

You can heap [censored] on us all day darren but we've always had the clubs best interests at heart. What happened in November cannot change but we shall go forward

Like it or not, whats happened today will not change and if we lose a dozen or so supporters, so be it...

football fans support clubs darren, not people, (unless they have their own agendas)...

we started with 50 and we'll go back to that if we have to....at least we will have a club to support....

let the majority of fans speak for themselves in due course...not on here but at the gates and in the restaurant...

I'm sure that whatever decisions have been made, have been made for good reasons, i.e. to help ensure the surival of the club.

I very much hope that GC stays as he has done such a brilliant job.

I don't know anywhere near enough at the moment to make judgments.

Good luck to Mick. He did a lot for the club in the time he has been here.

I dont know what to think or say anymore.I just feel numb.

For whatever reasons and whatever the truth is (we of course will never ever know)the club has to come first.

In saying that I take my hat off to Mr Ewen..a thoroughly decent bloke who stood with us on the terraces on a few occasions (Basingstoke comes to mind).Wish you luck Mick for the future. It's a pleasure to know you.

As for Mr Calder, well I am sure I speak for most of us in saying we hope you stay. I personally feel that things would have been far worse over the past few months if it hadn't been for the likes of him, Mick, Hillsy,Ken, Sally,Tina, John Lawrence,Kev Hales,Max and the Urchinettes , keeping our spirits up and lets face it, keeping a brave face on it. I am sure that what ever decision Gary Calder makes will be the right one for him and the club.

Look forward to seeing you in the bar at the next game Mr Calder...coz you owe me a pint!!

If there's one thing that Mick deserves from all of us for the hard work that he's put in for all of us since coming over from Ford, it's to spell his name correctly.

*Ewen*

bridgey, i'm confused too, regards to your missus.

agree with emhdad, the staff over the last few months have been fantastic, and while it seems that change is inevitable, it isnt always popular.

Cheers to everyone emhdad mentioned.

oh, and i think mr calder probably owes me a pint as well.
