Today's Thanet Times says that the public meeting is to be held on Wednesday 22 January, 7pm at the Winter Gardens can someone please confirm the correct date. The article also advises that MFC representatives have been invited to attend.

Excuse my ignorance, but why if there is a decision being made tomorrow/thursday-i am not sure which-has a public meeting been arranged prior to the decision being made.

 

Does this arrangement not make it inevitable that TDC will turn down/delay the proposal; when if a public meeting had not been arranged until after the decision ;at least TDC would have had to outline the resons for turning it down(again).

Possibly for very valid reasons, but at least they would have had to show their hand.

That may well have happened anyway but at least it would have been made clear as to why.

 

Now, its a simple case of saying decision delayed until after a public meeting, which will inevitably raise more questions and delays.

 

Frankly, from start to finish this seems to have been a catalogue of mismanagement.

 

No-one seems to be showing strong leadership here.

 

Too much interfernce by too many parties without the financial clout to go with it.

 

Its all well intended interference, but the club needs a leader to take this by the scruff of the neck and get the deal done.

 

Seems like we will have a meeting about a meeting .

 

Protests, meetings ,other parties-its all b******s.

 

Why does someone not just get on with getting the job done.

Frankly ,if i were the developer i would be saying its our baby and let us get on with it or we walk away(my personal view` and i so so hope i am wrong -is that they will anyway and this all makes it easier for them).

 

Rule by commitee however well intended is not an efficient way of getting things achieved

1) The public meeting has been arranged independently of the council and club.

2) It will have no impact on the outcome at TDC this week.

3) "The club needs a leader to take this by the scruff of the neck and get the deal done." That's exactly what KP has been trying to do.

If the TDC was going to agree with the redevelopment there would be no need for a public meeting.

So......a platform for the TDC's alternative?
