I did actually post asking it to be removed. Didnt think it was right for it to be seen by those who have no idea what the subject was over.

 

More importantly some people may have actually thought the main topic of the thread was actually going to take place and could spark the wrong rumours which are not needed by Hakki or the club itself.

Thanks for the info Mark - you will appreciate my earlier comments regarding its significance (since edited-away <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />). Other posters have referred to its existence since, so it has a kind of immortality already. Probably better placed where only the moderators can find it - no chance of nasty little ar$e-holes using it for malicious purposes <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

For sentimental reasons, BFR or any moderator could always copy the non offending pieces, say the post from Hakki, and then you can keep that bit, lock the thread and no one can add anything to it, it will then stay as it originally was.

 

Up to your mods as it has nothing to do with me, just a suggestion.

When the thread was dug up from the archives I made a comment that I couldn't imagine any positive reason for moving it back to the top of the discussion forum. I brought this up with one of the other moderators expressing my reservation at it making a reappearance. I made it clear that I was giving serious consideration to moving the thread out of the public domain, and now that I've logged back in the post is sitting in the graveyard section of the forum where it belongs.

 

Gary, Chris and myself are pretty liberal when it comes to moderating this forum when compared to other websites. A lot of clubs at our level keep a tight control over what is acceptable to them on club messageboards, but we have and will continue to back the right of the supporter to have their say, and if that means saying something the club is not happy about then so be it, but there has to be a line drawn as to what is reasonable. Digging up the thread in question could only have been done to my mind with malicious intent.

 

The issue of anonymous posting is an ongoing debate at the moment but I would like us to preserve an open forum. When I started posting on here a few years ago I didn't know many of the regular contributers and have got into quite a few arguments along the way. I prefer messageboards to have some teeth rather than be sterile and cliquey.

 

I know it is a cliche to say that football is a game of opinions but I think it is relevant here as this is a forum to air opinions and trigger debate. If everybody sings from the same hymn sheet then debate dies and is replaced by group compliance, which I think would make this a much poorer place.

hi all again dave here. ive never liked borg pertickualy and he was jumping around and nearly got sent off without evon getting a booking. we have had at all sorts of places and will no dougt seem him and other charictors again. i feel he is allways a bit rash at times but got to say some do get wound up such as martin o'neil and barry fry to name but a few.
