Yeading lost and Newcastle could only score 2 past them!

 

Well done Yeading for showing the quality of the Ryman League, but we Slough beat a div 1 side to get to round 2 and Yeading did not play a League team till now and lost!

 

Newcastle could only score 2 past a Ryman team how poor is that? with these premadonas earning all this money at Newcastle and scrape though against part-time non-leaguers!!!

 

Me bitter and twisted that it was not us - maybe?

Yep, they did themselves proud. They might be a little disappointed more people didn't go to the game though, I thought they were hoping for more (the attendance was 10,824)

I would think around 6,000 Newcastle at least from that. Unfortunately for them though, of those that did travel to 'support Yeading', how many will be there against Harrow for their next match?

I think we all know the answer to that. Probably none. At best, there will be a little increase for one game followed by 'usual' crowds for the rest of the season. Same as it would be for us.

Your away support yesterday was impressive, you could be upset for missing Newcastle, but still turned up in force.

 

What about 100 of you ? Looked about 70 behind the goal, assume you had about 30 on the sides.

 

Not the nearest of trips either. Good turn out.

I know we had 35-40 on the coach, and was at least 70 there. Having said that, we always travel well in terms of numbers, only really matched by Wealdstone from this division.

More than a little disappointed to see that Yeading's shirt sponsors were a large multi-national company based in Slough - for the time being anyway. Can't help but feel gutted that the publicity a game like that for the Rebels would have given the club a massive boost. Also noted that Preddie had an absolute blinder in goal - always appeared to lack confidence when with us - hey ho.

Even better, anybody see the BBC London TV evening local news kept talking of them as a "Slough" side - and from "near Slough"????

Couldn't help but watch the game and thought Yeading were magnificant - they and Exeters results have really highlighted non league footie which can't be a bad thing. I do think Yeading should have played the game at their ground, they would have had more of a chance.

Preddie also apparently broke his finger when he turned a shot over the bar but kept on playing. I'll be amazed if they don't win our league.

hi there brighton r how are you. well said i think yeading if luck was on there side score could easily been a draw at 2-2 and so what would proberbly lost the replay heavily at newcastles ground. and feel that as felt before i feel an upset coming on say exeter 2-1 man u and will still be a jiant killer. take care those nuts in my hat were great they went off very quickly anyway seriouse busieness not sure wether see you at the bryco game against cheshunt but surely at the important game against hendon on saturday in the FAT. i think we can win this one on saturday by the odd goal with a little bit of luck.
