Poor Gravesend side...

To be truthful we weren't anything special yesterday, although we were an awful lot better than Leigh who need an lot of practice before they reach the dizzy heights of poor.

Having said that awful weather, awful pitch, no crowd, so it's not suprising that the football wasn't up to much.

A fair summing up - there was a spell in the second half of a good twenty minutes at least where we could barely seem to string a few passes together, yet Leigh still couldn't take advantage. They had one free header in the second half, but that was about it. When the wind (and a hefty hailstorm for a while) was behind them in the first half they did force an acrobatic save from Pullen from long range and a block from him from close in though.

Another solid display from Bunce at the back, and he was probably only outfought for our MOTM by Saunders and Skins. An encouraging sign, particularly with a collector's item of back-to-back Fleet clean sheets now.

Although winning at last is a relief, it is only against the side we beat last, and the real test of whether our improving performances of late is going to trigger more victories will come against Aldershot and at Dagenham later in the month.
