FULL TIME: Braintree Town 2 Slough Town 1

I thought we played pretty well today deserved a draw at the very least. Second half we created a few more chances and last gasp defending and a couple of good saves from their goalkeeper kept them in front. We still look to walk the ball in or delay putting the pull into the box early on too many occasions. Both of their goals came from free kicks that we weren`t able to defend. Ours came from a penalty after Hodges had been bundled over in the box

Personally I think our performance was poor. We missed Daly's aerial ability at the back, and seemed to lack ideas going forward. The penalty was certainly a penalty with a push on Hodges but I have seen worse fouls not given. Hodges looked brighter than he has done for a while and I thought Allaway made a couple of decent saves and had very little chance with the goals.

Agree with Gary, when we pick the ball up on the edge of the area instead of trying to shoot we often pass it out to the wing and the wingbacks are not having the success they had earlier in the season. We need to vary the way we attack since we are becoming rather predictable.

We thought your number 9 was booked twice, shortly after he got a yellow, the ref called him over again, changed his mind and then asked to see your number 3 booked him instead.

The ref was poor, that is coming from a supporter of a team who has not lost, so it can't be accused as sour grapes. He missed alot. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Mark, the incident you refer to with our No 9 was partly the same incident that Matt refers to. It was clear that he showed a yellow card to our No 3 however he also showed the yellow card before he had called our No 3 over which seemed to be to your No 6 as he was the only person near the ref at the time. The only other person anywhere in the vicinity of the ref was our No 9 but since he had been booked moments earlier it seemed obvious it was your No 6 for arguing or backchatting, etc. Then your No 6 was booked near the end when he reentered the field of play without permission after he had had to go off having suffered his third (fake?) injury. God knows, as you say the ref was bloody useless (what a surprise).

I though we were unlucky not to get a point. We had the better of the second half and their keeper made a great save from a Moller header. But we really don't seem to be creating very much at the moment which is a bit of a worry.

The fixture list is not being particularly kind to us either. We have not played at home in the league since the 11th December and do not have another scheduled until the 29th January (I think). The sooner we can get a few home games under our belt the better.
