Me & Eastside had the pleasure of giving Mr no balls a piece of our minds at the bar just before we left. His reason for sending Cous off was not for being the last man but for denying a goal scoring opportunity. A F**KING lame excuse if you ask me.

a couple of the eastbourne fans said he weren't the last man and he could have played the advantage cos he still had the ball and didn't go down.

We were sitting in the stand just about level with the penalty area at that end of the ground.

 

There were three Hornchurch players in close attendance to the Eastbourne number ten, and it was by no means certain that he would have managed to get a shot in. The keeper was also moving towards him at that point.

 

IC did tug his shirt, no question of that, but he was not the last player. A penalty, yes, a booking, no.

 

The incident took place right on the edge of the area, though the foul was just inside.

 

But if the referee said it was because "he was denied a goal scoring opportunity", then I would ask why the Eastbourne defender who pulled Ziggy back (about ten yards outside the area, and about fifteen mins from the end) went unpunished, apart from a free kick, as the player was certainly being "denied a goal scoring opportunity".

 

And whilst you may consider the referee to have been somewhat unfair, did you also notice that the gale dropped noticably at half time?

if we had a competent referee yesterday we would of won that game 3-2,they would never had scored the 3rd had we had eleven players on the pitch as we was stretched,i always felt that had we kept it to one or two nil at half time,the wind would be a major advantage to us in 2nd,as it was proved,but unluckily the w*nker of a ref decide to make a complete hash of what should of just been a simple penalty decision <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shrug.gif" alt="" />
