Just looked back on the stats, and the last time we went in 1-0 at Half time was at Home to Barnet which we lost 3-1 <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Solid win in very difficult conditions. My first game since Accrington away and there have been a few changes in personnel. Overall impression was of a solid, hard-working team. Difficult to judge against a relatvely poor Leigh team but defence looked sound with Bunce particularly dominant. Pullen made one excellent save from a long-distance effort in the first-half. Everybody else did well and Fleet deserved victory.

First half was a real battle against the elements, playing into a howling wind which meant it was very hard to kick the ball forward more than 40 yards. Two clear-cut chances were created before the breakthrough. Both McAllister and Essandoh were through against the keeper: McAllister pulled his shot wide, a bad miss, whilst Essandoh's effort was well-saved. Fleet goal came via a freekick nodded down by Essandoh into path of Drury who hit a well-struck shot into the net. Possibly the keeper could have done better as it seemed to go through his hands directly over his head; that said it was a fierce strike.

In the second half the wind died down slightly.Fleet had better possession but only created half chances; I can't recall any effoerts from Leigh. Tem minutes from the end Skinner cleared a dangerous looking Leigh attack and was caught late by the Leigh attacker who was shown a straight red card. Definitely a yellow, from my view a red may have been a bit harsh. A number of niggly fouls from Leigh in the final 10 minutes resulted in a second player dismissed, 2 yellow cards this time, literally in the last few seconds of the match.

Overall a good performance, freezing weather. about 40 Fleet fans present at a guess.

I take it that the goal scored by Drury was as spectacular as it seemed to be when I read it from the internet?

The only game so far that I have missed a commentary to, or been there, and it was the game that Jukebox scores, I was not Happy.

Any pictures of the game available anywhere?
