What do we reckon your average non-league footballer gets paid?

 

There were lots of silly numbers touted about for the players we had before, ie Purser, Caskey etc but I'm just wondering what your average semi-pro gets?

Depends on the level they play at. Used to work with a semi-pro player who'd earn around £100 a game. Obviously the further up the non-league ladder you go the more you earn. He reckoned the top player at his club was on £500 a week then, a few years back though.

Not bad eh? I know there's alot of commitment involved but that on top of a 9-5 is not bad money.

If Caskeys wages were that high I'm sure he'd have had some put away for a rainy day or two and he'd have stayed longer so it's unlikely they were that high...

Doesn't really work like that does it tho PM. There are not many instances when I would work for free....

 

Insurance was prob an issue aswell. Do players pay their own insurance or do the club? And I can't remember if I asked this before once but how would that have affectd the injured boys?

there is no insurance at our level, the underwriters will not cover it as they think....

All three injured players are now on their way to recovery, unfortunately Adie and Sean will not play again this season. Their operations have been successful we understand and hopefully they will continue in this wonderful game.

When it comes to fact (outside of their match reports) the NLP does not know the meaning of the word. Caskey's wages quoted were well wide of the mark, and that is a FACT.

I guess its up to players then to cover themselves. Just wondering what happens to a guy who is a labourer and breaks his leg playing for a semi-pro side and therefore can't work.... Same as sunday league football I guess.....

same thing that happens to any of us if we break our legs ...playing tennis...playing 5 a side...playing cricket...walking for a bus...
