Team for Saturday

I think with Veli coming back to full fitness i would start with him in midfield and push Glenn Harris further forward to play just behind Hodges, in place of Matt Murphy. I felt Glenn played really well in this position before Veli got injured and it may get the spark in Glenn lit again as in my opinion he has lost something since the Yeading game.

i'd follow richie on this one, think harris needs to come further forward and have veli cover him. both are play makers so desperately needed by us at the moment and with haddow and josias on top form at the moment the delivery will be there for him... any news on wilko's recovery?

Personally I'd be thinking along the same lines in terms of dropping Matt Murphy but I'd push Spence up. As I mentioned on the coach to Salisbury our best run of results came with him playing behind Hodgey and it was that system which beat Walsall. I'd do what Gary suggested with 4-4-2 and play:

GK Allaway

RB Carbon

LB Michael Murphy

CB Daly

CB Saulsbury

RM Harris

LM Haddow

CM Hakki

CM Wilkinson (if not fit then Metcalfe)

FW Spencer

ST Hodges

Then a bench with

Parkin

Moller

Seedel

Matt Murphy

Metcalfe (if Wilko not fit then Gyoury or Steer in here as Metcalfe would start).

Matt started off really well, but I think has flattered to deceive since with a series of ineffective displays. I think both him and Hodgey would thrive from more crosses, and with the pitches becoming heavier, 4-4-2 would allow for greater service from the wings. With the pitches the way they are, it's very stamina sapping, more so when you're covering the entire length of the pitch for the 90 minutes.

I agree with that and also think Hodges, Seedel and Murphy are too similar and we need someone different as none have clicked, but Eddie's in charge and I trust his judgement.

Also think Haddow and Josias have had indifferent periods of late. Hopefully it's just a blip by them both though as the above rely on these two big time!

I also think a few midweek matches would do us well as it seems as we have not played much recently - despite the fixture backlog...

I think teams are 'sussing out' just how effective Haddow & Carbon are to us though and are countering that accordingly. To ease their workload, especially on these pitches, I'd prefer them to be utilised in a 4-4-2, but Eddie's not done too much wrong so far, so you gotta trust his judgement.

I like Matt Murphy too, and Matty Miller, but none of them can bring the best out of Hodgey like Tony Boot did. Or score as many goals either. If there's a chance that Booty might come back, even on loan, I think we should take it although that would be extremely harsh on Miller who looked sharp at Thame.
