Just when I'm feeling totally pissed off with west ham's miserable showing against sheffield united A certain referee & lino stitch spurs up to bring back the feel good factor. I dont suppose the spurs fans amonst you enjoyed it too much but I'm sure Arsenal & west ham fans loved it . And Roy Carrol almost appeared in the Blooper of the year Video/DVD's. Any comments from the happy's ?

The level of incompetence with regard to refereeing at ALL levels seems to be on a constant downward spiral.I believe a total overhaul is required.

There are so many ex-professional footballers who would make better refs that these people who try to do it at present.

If the FA had a quality training scheme too train up ex-players.The ex-players could work towards a high quality reffereeing badge. As many do with the UEFA coaching badges. It could even be a two/three year course (with experience gained in leagues like the ESL and other senior leagues. You gaurantee ex-players £1500 a game for the premiership, and their would be plenty of takers. They would know instinctivley what was a foul and what wasn't, much better than these jobsworths do at present you know just by looking at them, that most of them have never played football in their lives.)

Talking of bad dicisions.Who remembers Paul Underwoods goal for Enfield against Carshalton, not being given after the ball hit the back of the net and came back out.??

If it was the top players fast tracked to refing the premiership as you seem to want what would the uproar be when they made a mistake that favoured their old team?

Wouldthey want to take the money when they have already made a fortune from the game and most retire through injury so would they be up to the physical demands of the pro game they have had to leave?

Hey LS was that not against Chertsey (away)??
Joe Francis (remember him? star signing from Hayes....NOT!)was begging me & my muckers to tell the ref it went in!
Exactly the same thing happened to a young Clive Allen when he was playing for Crystal Palace.

It was an awful decision. However, I do not blame the linesman, I blame the old farts at the FA for not bringing in video replays. There was no way the lino could have got back to judge whether the ball had crossed the line. He was level with play when Mendes had the ball and could not keep up with it's speed when it was struck.

Also, I have to say how impressed I was with the dignity shown by Martin Jol after the game. I wonder what Fergie's reaction would have been if it had happened to Man Spew! Jol is a credit to the club and to football in general.

go on the hammers !

It must be so cold & lonely when your not in the Premiership.

Yes it is miserable in the Championship, which is why we take crumbs of comfort whenever we get the chance. Like Spurs losing or getting perfectly good goals disallowed, or Millwall getting beat at home by Rotherham less than a week after they took the piss for us only getting a 2-2 up there.

Talk about Karma and what goes around comes around. All those years of Spurs fans ripping it out of the Gooners when Nayim scored from 50 yards, yet when they do it, it gets disallowed. Oh how we chuckled!!!!
