Are you turning into Sven?

I agree that Drury should be playing in a more central role behind the front two, he played there a couple of times last season and it gave us some extra fire power.

as for the message referring to marg, I am categorically stating that I do not know what that person was on about, and I haven't seen Jukebox take many corners this season, has anyone else? AND MARG IS NOT A NICKNAME.

In all honesty I think Lovell is a skillfull player, still has somehing to learn so the loan is good (hoping he comes back and is a better player for it) Also I think he would be better on the left wing.

This seems a fair summing up. Just because a player has disappointed on occasions doesn't mean he can't improve with a bit of coaching.

However, if it was Lovell who did the 'drunken' post above (which seems unlikely), I take that back <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I must say I have my reservations about the diamond formation - it can leave the side lacking width. But then if our forward line happened to lack height (say, a partnership between Manny and Pinno) for any particular game, getting aerial crosses into the box would be less of a priority.

I was thinking more a diamond formation with two wide players, an attacking midfielder playing behind the two forwards and the defensive midfielder playing in front of the defence.

The idea being that the leftback & rightback would be expected to help the midfield out when attacking by making forward runs and the wide players drifting in and out of the wings thus covering the central midfield area at the same time. Obviously in the same way, the defensive midfielder is there to assist the defence too.

So you would have 5 players covering defence & 5 players covering the midfield (out of 8 in defence & midfield) and players showing plenty of movement all over the pitch.

All you need now is somebody who can score week in, week out and Premiership here we come..... (oh hang on, that was FM 2005.)

I like the idea but then again, I'm not the bloke who picks the team!
