Betting odds for Yeading vs Newcastle:

 

Yeading 22/1 Draw 15/2 Newcastle 1/20

I'll support Yeading and best of luck to them. They were by far the better team on the day when they played us, and after recent comments by Freddie Shepherd about the Premiership looking after themselves only, I hope Newcastle get stuffed and consequently relegated.

My sentiments exactly but I still can't watch. I know we could have beaten Yeading but on the day and by the looks of it for the rest of the season (in the league) they were the better team. Drax's team talks since the draw must have been fairly easy: "We are playing Newcastle on the 8th play well or your dropped."

I remember the arrogant smugness of the Yeading fans (the true one's) even at half time when the game was still level. I also heard of the reaction of at least one Yeading player after the game towards one or two of ours which wasn't exactly sporting. I also helped Kay and two other girls push the refreshment van around outside the clubhouse whilst every Yeading player stood and watched them despite being asked for help.

 

Yeading deserved to beat us on the field without question but off the field memories from that game leave me with a bitter taste. Personally I hope Newcastle score double figures.

Yeah I remember those fans too, when walking round through the covered terrace on the side opposite the stand - very cocky, "thanks for coming, boys" and all that. Their confidence was backed up though. Didn't endear me to them at the time though either !

 

What were the 'unsporting' things involving the Yeading player(s)? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/icon13.gif" alt="" />

I was told of an unsporting incident, by a very reliable source, although didn't see it myself so am not prepared to repeat it on a public forum.

 

Damn - failing to make an accusation public because I didn't have proof or witness it myself means I've inadvertently failed the entrance qualification for being a Slough councillor.
