Junior, re the badge, you said there were some left, so I offered to buy the one you were wearing and you could get another one, sadly you declined.

 

And it's HOOKEY (My dad's nickname) not Hooker, which is American slang for a ...... Look it up!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bisou.gif" alt="" />

i said u could have the one i was wearing, (talk about taking the shirt off my back or whatever the expression is!) but i said i CAN get u a new one, it was up to u!?

Oh you fibber! You point blankly refused to sell me the badge you wearing. Never mind, you can bring one to Bowers when you visit.

 

As for the origins of Hookey. It was my dad's nickname back in Ireland. He was a bit of a footballing legend in his home town (Cookstown, Co Tyrone) where it was said he could "hook" the ball into the area from anywhere on the wing.

 

At least that's what he and my uncles told me!!!!
