Tom Poole with the goal 13 minutes from time. Not much else to report really, not the most exciting game, largely because Hullbridge didn't seem interested in attacking our goal until after they went behind. Chris Wayman had one save to make all night and he made it well. Good workout for the 4 first teamers (Elder, Wareham, Game and Kerrigan) who turned out, and a few of the under 18s again impressed, particularly the 2 centre backs (Rob Sweine and Greig English).

 

According to the Southend Manor website they haven't played Hullbridge yet in this competition so the table stands at:

A very scrappy game as Simon said...Matt Game being man of the match for me.

Not the greatest game ive ever seen. Poole impressed when he came on and got a well taken goal. Could have had another towards the end too. Better crowd than i expected and was nice to see the first teamers there watching.

Bit suprised to see that only one of the three starting officials failed to make it to the end. At one point all three looked in danger of keeling over.

Thought you might say that. Rayleigh is about 15 to 20 minutes drive from Southend and Hullbridge is just outside Rayleigh. Some of my mates live in Rayleigh.

 

I'm not too bad Thornsy. It's been a while since I've had a drunken phone call from an EFM member. I did get a few drunken texts off Laz on Xmas day!!
