[****!!****] Joke - gertcha was delighted of course

I think it's time now for video technology to be brought in, but not for every decsion - I think for goals only as that's the reason you're on the pitch, pentalties have to many if's and but's and they do genrally even themselves out (Liverpool should of had two on Saturday but then should of conceded two on Monday).

The problem is things like that will benifit the biggest clubs and they are the ones who will find a way to tip the odds even further in their favour.

Goal judges like Ice Hockey could be brought in at all levels at far less cost.Just because it comes from another sport dosent make it wrong.

Can't believe it wasn't given..

But how many times as a Spurs fan can you be p1ssed off at only getting a draw at Old Trafford?? It shows how a good coach and a bit of confidence can change things.

Towering performances from King, Carrick and Robinson last night, just hope we get our luck back for the Chelsea game.

The linesman has been getting some stick on talksport this morning. However, if you think logically, you can't blame him or the ref for not seeing it. The guy hit the ball from 50 yards away and the linesman would have been level with the last defender so he would have had no chance of seeing if the ball went in or not, especially as the keeper was blocking the view from the lino's side.

If the linesman had been down to watch the goal line, then he would not have been in a position to give an offside decision.

Well, football is supposed to be a TEAM sport. Why can't the officials start acting like a team? Apparently the fourth offical spotted the ball going over the line, but for some stupid reason he could not make his opinion known at the time. Better communication between officials would be step in the right direction.

If Spurs fans think back we were robbed (Venners was manager) at Old Trafford by an offside decision that was a scandal

If the technology was used only at Old Trafford and Woolwich it would do away with a large percentage of "strange decisions"

Ok, how about this for a suggestion, what about two more assistant ref's who sit behind the back of the net, 1 each end, in front of the Supporters who are behind the goal.

They would liase with the Ref, like the Assist Ref's do at the moment, there would then be no need to stop the game for video evidence.

It may only work, in the Premiership and Football League, as I can't see the Non League bosses wanting to pay another £ 60 roughly on two more officials, but it could be used higher up, where money is no issue.

------------------------------------------------------------------------An FA spokesman after the game between Manchester United and Spurs absolved the linesman of any responsibility for the apparently mistaken decision not to award a goal to Spurs after a shot from the halfway line crossed the goal line by at least a metre.

"The shot came in from an unusual distance and as such caught the linesman out of position forcing him to race back towards the goal as the play developed", explained the spokesman, "As he ran, the United scarf he was wearing under his shirt came loose and fluttered up into

his face obscuring his view and preventing him from making the call. It was just one of those things."

In response to further questions from the Press the spokesman explained

"If they don't already have a United tattoo most officials on game day try to wear a scarf or a replica shirt under their regulation kit to show their support for the worlds greatest club. The linesman in this case had chosen to wear a United scarf, a common choice that is in keeping

with FA guidelines. The root cause of the problem lies not with the linesman but with the players and management of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club who broke one the most important unwritten rules of the English FA: They placed a shot on target at Old Trafford. Martin Jol is new to this country and perhaps he's not yet familiar with some of our finer traditions. Fortunately if he doesn't yet understand that for the greater good of the game visiting teams, by tradition, are not expected to try to score at Old Trafford then our officials are in a position to help Mr Jol make that cultural adjustment."

Chuckling to himself the FA spokesman added "The goal had to be disallowed to avoid us descending down a slippery slope that would be bad for the national game. It's a fine line the officials have to walk. If they award a goal this week, next week someone might expect a penalty or ask that Van Nistleroy be booked for diving. Can you imagine? That

would just never do. No no no. Shocking, just the thought of it."

In other news, Mike Riley's has been ordered by his mum to take down his posters of Tiago from above his bed!!

But money is a huge issue in the premier league, if Spurs miss out on 4th place by 2 points then the cost to them could be as high as 10m in the first instance and 20m overall
Simply set-up camera!s across the goal line

True but does bring its own new form of excitement

Very fast, not in individuals speed thats always been available but in the consistancy of pace and action for 90 minutes

Take out the diving and make it a mans game once more and its almost worth the money
