4 unsolicited free tickets

Recommended Posts

I've never had any doubt in the past that the forum member called P Janik (personally) was anybody else other than the Councillor himself and I've no reason to think differently now. From the content matter and the login you have no reason to suspect that the post came from anybody else Charlie

How unprofessinal posting on a message board trying to stir up something although no one can tell what...

Expect the local rag's to be full of this prat on Friday...

And Charlie, I just have the great misfortune to share the same initials... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/flame.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wall.gif" alt="" />

(Like I noted earlier, I really am NOT Paul Janik! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/flame.gif" alt="" />)

But as his name says Woody, he is posting personally, not professionally.

There was an issue about this (not against Paul I should make clear) that went to the Standards Board after a complaint was made about the message left by a Councillor on the slough observer forum. I can't recall the exact details but I think the person concerned was not reprimanded for his post.

that's like Eddie Denton or Dave Carrol saying " I don't like such and such"

but because they say *These are my personal and not professinal views it's okay...

Crazy! Imagin Sven bonking a bird and saying "It's personal not professinal" and so the press leave him alone...

The press left Blunkett to it until it became clear that the lines between his personal and professional were becoming blurry. I'm sure I could make a joke about his blindness out of that but it probably isn't in the best of taste

Would be interesting to find out from Mr Janik himself which game the tickets were for and who sent them. As far as I am aware, none of the more 'high profile' STFC supporters have been submitting complaints about him as we've got enough to worry about ourselves without getting involved in petty little councillors squabbles as well.

Sent to the council for inclusion in their public records

-------------------------

Declaration by Supporters of Slough Town Football Club

Mr Paul Janik received in his council mailbag on Tuesday, 4 January 2005, 4 free unsolicited tickets from Slough Town Football Club, which were sent as a goodwill gesture by the Club to representatives of the people on the Council, to alert them to the plight of the Club. Mr Janik would probably have complained bitterly if he had been missed out.

Mr Janik has always been extremely hostile towards the Club and its supporters on a personal basis and has spent his time posting on websites and writing to the press with maliciously motivated mis-statements and disinformation about the Club and its Chairman, its supporters and its attempts to find a new ground. Consequently we have no wish to be involved with Mr Janik and if he doesn't want the tickets, would ask him please send them back and we can give them to a Councillor who is prepared to treat the gesture as the olive branch it was.

Very tactful Chris. I'll point out on your behalf that this is the personal opinion of Chris S and does not represent the views of Slough Town Football Club, nor Slough Town Supporters Trust. Besides which, who on earth is Paul Janick???

With regard to Paul's statement above, I have been asked by the club to issue the following statement:

"All of Slough Borough Councillors were sent a letter from the football club over the Christmas period wishing them a happy holiday season. Included within the letter were a number of free Junior tickets, each ticket allowed an U16 free attendance to any match of their choice at Slough for the remainder of the 04/05 season.

The tickets were issued to all councillors, not for their own personal use (none of them are under 16, obviously) but to distribute to any juniors within their ward who they feel would benefit from, or enjoy, free entry to a Slough Town FC 'home' match.

It would appear that Councillor Janik has perhaps been a touch hasty in his dismissal of these tickets as they clearly state that they are for use only for U16 entry, as I am sure there are plenty of U16's within the Britwell ward which could have benefitted from the use of these tickets.

Paul has made his position clear from his comments above that he would not wish to attend but the club would also like to re-iterate that Paul, and all other borough councillors, are more than welcome to attend any STFC matches, and will be able to experience first hand the professionalism and hospitality being shown by the club during this difficult time in their history."

Well we could not have expected Councillor Janik to read, understand and appreciate what he was actually sent now could we?
