Transfer Window

Now the tranfer window is open, does anyone know if we are going to sign any quality players in a bid to get promotion.

I feel we need a " quick centre back " a "quality playmaker", and two proven " goal scorers " and can they all be of a substantial build, because I reckon that has been our downfall this season, the team is too small and slight.

Don't need to sign any more players. Each and every one of them is good enough, especially when they are on form. You don't get to the second round of the FA cup (having started at the 1st qualifying round) and beat teams as much as four leagues above you, without being good.

i agree with nathan, ian and gary on all the above points... when the boys are on form they're unstoppable, but as the famous(?) paul merson said, whe the attitude isn't right etc etc... perhaps that could be solved via consistency in the team and as with many a football team, a pair of strikers who compliment each other well.. something we haven't seen much of since tony boot left...

You must get your head out of the ground, even Ostriches come up for air.Winning promotion is not about a few games its a long haul. How come Yeading are still in the cup and TOP OF THE LEAGUE.

Who ever said anything about promotion? The question asked was that "were we going to sign any more players". I have stated my opinions as to why we don't need to.

I agree. The most dangerous strikers at our level are either those with good movement and a commanding aerial presence (the Hodge) or pace (DJ Campbell). The strikers who trouble us the most are the ones with pace and it is a weapon we lack amongst our front two. However, perhaps if Matt Miller can gain some match sharpness at Thame our problem will be solved.

he certainly looked better than i'd seen him for a while at thame althought that may have been helped by the fact that the thame side are easily two legues below him quality wise.... still you can't take away from him the fact that he looked pacey and quick witted

Oh how nice to be back from Hull and only miss a 0-0 game at Salisbury!

Eddie's said in the paper that he expects us to get to the play-off's and despite a decent squad I think we are just outside that position with the personnel we currently have. I think we need a second striker as all our striker's are carbon copies of each other in my opinion and another defensive midfielder who gets around the pitch a bit more to help Mets or Wilko.

Although I agreed 4-4-2 last season. Don't think we should change it this as we have not got the right personnel and the wingback's are one of our strongpoints.

Also notice Mr Boot's not even getting on the Dagenham bench - maybe we could get him back on loan as it might perk Hodgey up??

dont think theres a transfer window as there isnt for the coca cola leagues and we signed allaway etc,

In my view i think that Denton should get a new striker and a couple of back up players.

I think this because we have arguably the best team in the division but they dont want it enough, They only seem to play in the cup ( exclude yeading ) and if we dropped some players for certain games then they might play better to keep their place.

For example Ian Hodge is a gr8 player but hes not playing nowhere near as good as he was last year, also josias is capable of much better things.

BTW was wondering how many goals and games matt murphy has played and scored.

Another player i would give a chance to is Andy Deaner becouse although he isnt that good he gives 100% all the time to try his best and i think thats what Denton needs to get out of the players in order for promotion, At the moment were heading for about 10th.
