Question re: Anonymous postings

[color:"blue"] I've noticed that a lot more postings are just marked 'Anonymous' and feature not even a random user name. Logging on from the office computer I noticed that 'Anonymous' now is a default username for a posting from a non logged in user.

 

Why has this been changed?

 

Could the forum revert back to the old system which prompted you to type in a user-name? Then perhaps we'd get a small idea of who was posting, especially on long threads where you can find 'Anonymous' posting in reply to 'Anonymous', and 'Anonymous' answering back.

 

If they were forced to put in a user-name it would mean we could work out that 'Fred' posted the intial point, 'Harry' replied and 'Fred' said Harry's point was crap ie it'd be easier to follow the thread.

could forum admin please sort out my account, I tried to register....I have mailed forum admin twice about this with the relevant details.

It's been changed because that is the default setting for the new software. Forcing a name is on the list of things to do, but the best answer is to make the forum registered so that there are no anoymous posters.
