Is it? Well, since you're obviously the expert, old git...

the spirit in the dressing room is largely down to Ade.

Again, I don't see how you can know this, Gary - unless you're a regular in the dressing room, just like all those posters about Shearer recently? It must be getting pretty crowded in there...

However, Gary, your other points are valid in my view - Ron Hillyard's experience can be useful in the interim - or even perhaps permanently, if things go well.

Best of luck at Welling Ade.

What's the betting the old partnership of Moore and Shearer will be back shortly?

if we look at welling's squad from saturday we can see:

mitten, watts, lee and booth (G&N)
browne, day, spiller and tyne (dover)
slatter and wiles (chelmsford)
hale and hambley (havant & w)
smith (loan/work experiance)
others from reserve team.

as you can see our squad of 13 first teamers is made up of players that have played for 5 clubs between them so to try and claim the credit of dover and and chelmsford's ex players is just rude.

You can add Browne and Spiller to the Fleet list. We had them before Dover. They must be moving down the food chain...

I think Ade Pennock was one of the main reasons behind our success at the beginning of the season. He motivates the team well and him and Andy have got the team gelling well together.

Good Luck Ade!!

P.S Whats happened to Essandoah, ever since the Hornchurch game he has been Pants

Sorry, JC, I do know a bit more than I can go into on a open forum, in order to save embarrassment to Ade, but trust me, and the concensus will probably agree, that Ade WAS the lighter, morale boosting part of a superb double act, whilst Andy is the tactical expert.
The partnership is over, and good luck to Ade is his new career.
Let us all move on get behind Andy as never before, the light IS at the end of the tunnel, we are looking more secure at the back, and a win is not far oway.

"Tactical Expert.......!"

Tactics like continuing to pump high balls from the defensive zones, by-passing midfield, even if Roy isn't in the side and we have two 5`2" strikers ?

Breaking up our best central defensive partnership for ages of Mooro and Shearer ?

Clever stuff that - beyond a simple supporter like me that's for sure !

mmmmmmm

That's funny, this sentence sounds familiar. I don't know why, it's only appeared about a hundred times on here recently...

And, given the number of goals we've leaked over the last 2 seasons, I really dont see it can be that accurate - okay, you can make excuses - regular changes at the back 4 dont help, etc, etc, but at the end of the day, our defensive players simply havent done their job often enough - and that, in itself, puts pressure on the remainder of the side particularly forwards who must feel they must score at least twice in most games to give us any hope of getting 3 points.

Chris Moore did have a cracking season last year but hasnt been the same player this year - whilst I dont want to see change for change sake, if it improves our goals against record, I (and no doubt most other fans) will embrace it.

Saturday was a start - only our second clean sheet this season - and if we can continue in that vein, we will move forward. After all, you cant lose a game if you dont concede, can you?
