Had them all them 'teach' me at some time or another.

Lesley Pringle was ok - his brother Robert was in a couple of my classes.

Dr. Roberts RIP.

Chaplin was um strange and affectionately known as 'Pidgeon' due to the way he walked and you definitely didn't sit in the front row during his class unless you had an umbrella!

Then there was 'Boo Boo' (can't recall his name at the mo) - a complete nutter who would throw things at you if you fell asleep... apparently he was a boxer.

Best laugh (!) was the school scroll that everyone had to sign - does that still happen ? - I spilt the ink all over my name. Christoher Newey was the 2000th person to sign it.

Robert Turpin was also in my year - he made a number of 1st team appearances for Enfield. At one point Dave Waite was the games master.

What about Mr Kanitka (Kit-Kat).He once informed the class that the bridge on Brick Lane had collaped. We all spent the next few hours trying to plan different routes home.Until someone run up there to have a look, and realised he was winding us up.

Talking of weird teachers. At the time you didn't take much notice, but looking back you realise that quite a few were a bit 'suspect'.For want of a better word.

Who was the divinity teacher that looked liked a monk.?

He 'kit kat' was my form teach in the first year I was in Coventry and he drove a horrible kermit coloured car.

'The Monk' was Chaplin (?)... I used to be amused my the way that he would do the commnuian... the participants would get the smallest drop of wine possible... he would then swig the remains!

The monk was Father James Lowry, who sadly passed away a few years ago. I also understand that Dr. Roberts is now suffering from Alzeimers and is now cared for by his daughter as his wife died last year. Such a shame for a great man.

Moving away from the Bishops Stopford Friends Reunited thread for a moment...

When I had a proper job, we had a client called Cliff Richards and another called Michael Jackson.

Many years ago I knew a bloke called Winston Churchill.

I used to live next door to Richard Turpin.

OK, you can get back to the Bishops nostalgia now.....

Yep.. Lowry rings a bell!

I must admit, I heard that Dr Roberts had passed away - glad that appears to be one bit of gossip that does not appear to be the case. But Alzeimers ? As you say "Such a shame for a great man."
