Gutted thats how i feel after todays game,personally after going 1-0 down to a great header from the cente-back my side got back into the game after our forward was brought down in the box,now this is were is get complicated,if the referee then gives a penalty surely the player should either 1.get a yellow card if there are players covering or if the attacking forward is going away from goal. 2.If the attacking forward is through on goal and the defender brings down the forward who is through with a goal scoring opportunity then a penalty should be given,now once the penalty has been given surely the referee must give either a yellow card,if defenders are covering or if the forward is one-one with the keeper surely he must send the defender off,want happens next NOTHING,now if you give a penalty for a foul surely you must either yellow card him or send him off.Now dont get me wrong personally i think that your defender should have got sent off,if the ref gave a penalty which he did then the defender must be dealt with and in my opinion no other enfield town player was covering,when you look at my keepers sending off and compare it to your defenders challenge which i might add resulted in a penalty then you might understand how a gutted i feel.Now if your defender gets sent off,which in my opinion he should of,my team goes in at half-time 1-1 and playing against 10 men.do you think that jc would have played the 2nd half the same way,somehow i dont think so.The 2nd half of this game would have been a different story in my opinion,but then football is all about opinions and i have mine like everyone else has theirs,many thanks to all at enfield town for making myself and everybody connected with Bowers & Pitsea f.c welcome the hospitality we recieved was second to none.One last thing Junior i told you that you would get your shirts and that is exactly what i did,i dont keep promises that i cant keep.

Was Trevor in goal and who was the replacement keeper when he went off? With Matt D about to start a 35 day ban, the last thing we need is another keeper suspended.

 

Who was our number 10 today that people keep going on about on another thread?

I AGREE DARREN I THINK OUR PLAYER SHOULD HAVE BEEN SENT OFF HE WAS THE LAST MAN ! AS FOR YOUR KEEPER PROB A YELLOW WOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH ! SAYING THAT HE DID HANDBALL IT THEN COMMIT A FOUL STRAIGT AFTER SO MAYBE TWO YELLOWS HA HA !

 

NOT A GREAT GAME TYPICAL NEW YEAR FIXTURE !

 

BUT GOOD LUCK TO DARRAN AND BOWERS FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON.

That would have been Daniel Vile, that explains someone's comment on another thread about a "nice perm". Surprised there wasn't a spare keeper on the bench. Maybe they were unavailable, e.g. hols, ill etc.

Hard to say. Our U18s keeper, who incidentally is normally on the bench for the 1st team, got 35 days for almost the same thing. The only difference being the ref claimed his tackle was dangerously high, but it was wide of the penalty area and was not a goalscoring opportunity. The ban starts on Mon 10/1.

 

Seems excessive when you consider a straight red for violent conduct only gets you a 3 match ban in the Premiership.

Got to say Darran agree with everything you say, with regards your pen did you see the Fulham v Palace game on NYD? Van Der Sar brought Johnson down & no card was given when Dowie asked the ref about it the answer he got was "well you got the goal didnt you?"

As for our pen i thought he got sent off for deliberate handball, if not he shouldnt have been sent off.

As for the match i thought we were awful, bloody awful!

What was that formation about? 3 at the back.... (Grrrrr)..... the natural left back playing left midfield????? Russell Penn in a back three??? the natural right back playing right midfield???? Why?

What on earth was wrong with a back four of Digby, Hall & Baldwin in the middle & Butler with Penn in midfield where he should be?

The players with the exception of Rudi didnt seem to know what the formation was either they looked completely disorganised.

Another thing when there outfield player went in goal i dont think he had a save to make? surely Asa should have been on earlier, thought he would have relished the chance to test him out.

In my view a very lucky 3 points, the players we have could win any ESL game they just need a consistant formation. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/megaphon.gif" alt="" />
