Collection for Tsumani

Am I right in thinking that we didn't bother with a collection on New Years Day?

If so we were the only club by all accounts and that is shocking!

 

However we know what people at this club think of charity after EFM's Canvey fundraiser.

 

It's great that we're doing the buisness on the pitch but let's not lose sight of the idiots (or idiot) running this club into the ground.

Unless i was very much asleep in the amazingly slow queue for burgers there was neither a collection nor a minutes silence at our game at leyton

A bucket on the bar (like in my local pub) wouldn't go amiss but as always somebody has to volunteer to organise it.

 

I don't go along with one minute silences though unless they are football-related, there are so many nowadays it is making a mockery of the whole thing.

I get the feeling these days that since the whole Princess Diana thing everybody has got to be seen to be jumping on the bandwagon to show they can grieve more than others. It will get to the stage where there'll be a minute's silence nearly every week and for the most trivial things!!!

Understand what your saying there, but surely you can make an exception for 140000 people dying.

Can definitely make an exception for the likes of Tsunami and 9/11 but all I was saying that lately there seems to be one minute silences for all sorts of things that although tragic are not really worthy of it.

A Happy New Year to you. Frantic in the office over the past couple of weeks but I'm still here.

 

I scanned the Observer this morning but nothing worth passing on. Small squad. 3 subs. Hooper suspended for saturday. Charles cup-tied for H&W.

Why not just incorporate a 1 minute silence into part of the pre-match routine for every game? Then the tannoy announcer can dedicate it to the cause of the week. There, problem solved.
