I am sorry to criticise one of our own players, but i can not see any quality at all in Alexis. He must be dropped and, preferably, let go.

Someone suggested that it would be better to play Nej outfield rather than Alexis - I have to agree.

On the three occasions i've seen Alexis i feel he is a very promising player, neat passer, can tackle as well, put his foot in alot Vs Welling at home and doesnt mind running at players as well. crossing could do with improving but there is alot of potential there

Totally agree, John, and he played really well yesterday. Certainly has passion and a will to win. Also is a bit of a terrier in the JK mould and causes all manner of grief to the opposition.

Next season with a bit more experience he will be even better.

I've never been the biggest fan of either PB or Alex, but would concur with Margate Fan ,that if we can survive the season,PB and Alex will come out of it so much better players; and could play major positive roles next season.

 

It has been a case of needs must this season,and there are signs of them improving.

 

I just hope that we can keep our status in conference south.

It may just be that the ctiticism of MFC for not grooming younger players goes away with Alex , Tamba and PB all major beneficiaries .

This seasons experience will stand them in good stead and they will be good players next season.

We have to survive until then however.

 

I also trust that no matter what, CK plays them in midfield roles.Defenders-emergencyor no emergency -they most definately are not; and that little experiment in November was a blatant failure.Edwards can play at full back if needs be. At least he is some sort of defender.

It seems JK can do a job there aswell; but Alex and PB in defence-no thanks-and its not fair on them

he is proberly the most frustraiting player to watch.. he gets the ball turns a player and the just hoofs it without looking hoping it will go to a gate player which 9 times outa 10 it dont.. if he took 3 more secs to look b4 he aimlessly fired he would be much more improved i think.

Here here legend, i sometimes wonder if people actually all watch the same game......I imagine that Alexis has a pass completion % of around 25%

 

Maybe he is improving all the time, but we need better players if we are ever going to be conferance bound

Perhaps this is the problem, we are understandably comparing players with the standard of the league we used to be in.

However, given all our problems at the moment, we would do better to concentrate on consolidating in the league we are now in, and looking for the upward rise when we have a bit of stability in our future.

A lot of the criticism of the players are thet they are not conference standard. Well maybe not, but they are conference south standard, and that is where we are playing, and that is where we need to get safe.

The younger and more inexperienced players can hopefully grow with us, and when and if we have the wherewithall to build, will surely benefit from any more experienced players brought in to strengthen the team. The more experienced players we have will benefit from the freedom to play to a higher level when they do not have to worry about what the inexperienced players are doing.

For now, however, we have about 5 of our best players injured in what is an extemely small squad, so we need to support those poor souls that are left will all their bits more or less intact who can be called on to play, and not slag them off for not being what we would want them to be in the league we would rather we were in.

i dont think anyone means to slag the players off. i guess its the dream of in a ideal world for as we know we have nothing left, and its all very depressing!

i dont know about u but i think each week may be my last time of seeing teh gate..

More relevant to me is what has happened to the form of the players who have conference national experience and quality.

 

Despite the injuries (which all teams have) we still had ,Che, Rocky ,Edwards, Clarke, JK ,Darren W,and Barnett(and Moses sort of) on display yestreday.All are very experienced at conference national level.

 

I don't think any other conf. south teams have 7 seasoned conf. national players on display.Add on Smith who seems to be rivalling JK as currently our most consistent player and where is it all going wrong.This remains a squad that many conf. south fans would envy

 

These are the guys who should be sorting it, without having to highlight the known inexperience of Alex and PB.

 

 

Add on Greg, Gradley ,Bouadji, Annon and thats 11 conference semi-pros in our (not so small or weak) squad.

 

So where is it all going wrong ?

 

(by the way does anyone know where Pulman is these days or has he simply been released )

Collectively that squad is alot stronger than the rave reviews that Hornchurch were getting at the start of season about their strength of squad.

 

That squad should be winning this league by a mile, not floundering against relegation without a league win for 9 games and bottom of conference form league.

I think we should spare a thought for the staff working at the club. There are more important things for the few people there to think about at the moment. Once things have hopefully settled down, I'll try to see if I can help get something sorted.
