CK verbally abused at Welling

CK was verbally abused at Welling this afternoon by our own fans. Only a couple but he came down the top end after the final whistle and yes another bloke had a go. CK said and i quote 'well i'll go and work somewhere else then.' I think abusing the manager is disgraceful and anyone who says otherwise i have no time for iether. CK has stayed with the club and is our most successful manager by miles. If i could have caught up with him i would have.... I know times are hard but give it a rest. We only had 13 players and some of them are injured and playing. Yeh of course its almost rock bottom but support. I dont want to hear about i pay my money and i can say what i like cos thats an obvious thing to say.

Well done to those 60 odd, yes 60 odd who did stand in the rain see a poor side win 1-0 and do the double on us. Obviously this #### wants CK to go. He may get his wish.

we was still walking around from the back when i saw CK run up we thought he was gonna say somthing to the fans so we hurryd over and suddenly he started swearing and saying weird stuff.... when i asked a pep who was closer he said it was the bald guy who was not far from us when the game was on, now as u may or may not know i have attended all but 4 games this season and i havnt seen that guy b4 this day.

not sure what to make of it all as u know we the fans were annoyed but are not stupid and know ck always trys his best with the players he has got.

but still kinnear shouldnt have swore back i thought he was gonna have a fight

as another gate fan said to me outside that just made welling laugh at our plight even more! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Well tbh the twat that gave CK the verbal was a compleate unkown to me cant recal seeing him at any point this season previous to this game.

The abuse of CK is some what unjust isnt much any manger can do with 13 fit players some of them apear to be out of there league at times, but at the same time CK has to be professional and not fly of the handel the way he did.

It would be a real shame for what he has done for the gate and how he has stuck by the club for this some what minor incedent to blemish it.

The bloke shouted at Chris then carried on walking. Then Chris had a go at those who were near i dont blame him.Confidence is low at the momment but we need Chris to get us through this.We also need our FANS to support the team and manager.

Hi,

I have never seen this guy before either (perhaps he is local to welling?)

In all fairness, I didnt hear him abuse CK but its not really deserved, chris has been great, and I understand he is doing a most difficult job, with limited resources and backing.

However, I cant help but feel in my heart of hearts, it was slightly unprofessional of CK to "offer out" the Margate faithful at the end of the game! It was embarrasing, and frankly, made me feel uncomftable.

A bitter begining to the new year, lets just hope that chris doesnt leave and we can string some results together to halt the rot!!!

Cmon Blues!!!!!!!!!!

Embarrising really, glad no welling fans saw the incident!!!!!

Lets hope we can climb the table from now on, we aint quite in the relegation zone!!!!

Just out of interest, what was said to CK? All I heard was one ten-year-old yell "Kinnear!" at the final whistle.

If something obscene was said then I can understand CK's anger.

He has done this before. When we drew 1-1 with Erith in 98/99, he got some stick from the Bongo clan and 'resigned' then.

I notice he left the ground very quickly, hopefully to go home and calm down.

I trust Chris is aware that this is an isolated person and the bulk of support is firmly behind him. His outburst is as much to do with disappointment and frustration at our situation as anything else so let's give him a bit of leeway. We lost two more with injuries today as well.

I could not see anyone to do with the team not busting a gut today, poor result or no, we all need to recognise thaey are trying their hardest.

JK, Clarkey and Smith were absolutely outstanding today, but all the team tried really hard for a result.

I felt sad that we could not find it in us to give them a round of applause at the end for their efforts. We seem to have stopped doing this, it is a great shame.

I dont know what was said.....the bald guy and his son might have said something!

He was giving Benevides some stick during the game, and Alexis as well if I remember correctly!

One guy who is hardcore Margate would know what was said cos he was trying to calm ck down, unfortunately...I dont know his name.

He goes to every game, so shouldnt be too hard to trac down.

If that was it, I am slightly perplexed by CK's reaction. Personally, I have never given him any stick and don't agree with people who do, but compared with some of the stuff that gets shouted at football grounds this would have been very small beer. Surely, there must have been something else to get him so upset?

Probbably getting wound up with all the ground problems and results were all getting pissed of he like us is only human and entitled to blow a fuse now come next sat lets get behind them like we used to.

Given the circumstances he has worked under for 3 years now, I'd say he is entitled to "lose it" once in a while. Can any of us truly say we would have stuck this for so long?

I was there really do not know what was said, but unfortunatly witnessed CKs reaction.I am afraid to say he was totally out of order in having a go at the completly innocent Margate fans.Alright so Chris has stuck with us and is doing his best, but he could leave and probably better him self.Us fans have also stuck with the club and supported CK,at great cost and travelling time these last few seasons, for what? Not a lot of hope of better times for us.IF CK WANTS TO HAVE A GO AT SOMEONE THEN HAVE A GO AT THE PERSON OR PERSONS WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TOTALLY,TOTALLY DESTROYING OUR CLUB both off the field and on it .That is not a critiszm of the players. I dont care what the circumstances are or were no paid employee of any organisation should react the way Chris did.IMO he could have used this as a get out clause seeing as how so many people saw it ,and yet no one seems to have heard what was said. A TERRIBLY SAD DAY!!!!!!!

People who have a go at Chris are invariably ones who have only known the 'glory years', also known as the Kinnear era.

Anybody who knows what things were like before he turned the club around would never dream of abusing him, at some point it might be time for a change of manager but there will never be a point where such an absolute Margate legend deserves abuse.

Having said that, Chris came in for some disgusting personal abuse from Porka and co (no sign of any of them now) at Farnborough last season and didn't bat an eyelid, let alone confront the fans.

I'd say he's well within his rights to have a go at whoever it was that upset him but unfortunately he actually ended up taking it out on 20 or so totally innocent fans, most of whom have been around long enough to know what a total hero he is and who have probably never said a bad word about him.

It seemed to be totally out of character but to tell a group of loyal supporters who would back him to the bitter end that they "can all f u c k off" was out of order and an apology would be nice.
