Bromley V Gravesend

Recommended Posts

3-2 to Bromley at the end, and on the face of it worthy of the win on effort, but I repeat what I said about the Weymouth game and home refereees at friendly games. Although this was not as physical there has to be some way of punishing some of the challenges, the elbow on 'Jacko causing his early exit with concussion could (and I don't think some players realise this) have ended on a murder charge had it been 3 inches lower: and yet the culprit is going to start the season with a clean record just because it was a friendly(?) The match was not one of the classics and though it could be put down to ever changing players and tactics I got the feeling that the result was not of too much interest, especially with the 'I don't care attitude' (MY IMPRESSION ONLY) when we missed the penalty. Don't draw too many conclusions from this game, I feel we'll see more like the Brighton encounter throughout the season, I say this because it appears that some of the hindsight merchants have got their claws out already.

Not sure about the spelling, but as SuperDaz calls him, it was 'that Adolf (Amoko?), bloke. That made it 2-2, but as well as the penalty, Che also had one disallowed. Chuck Martini, with Sutton last season if you remember, and today with Bromley, tried to smother the ball in the area from an advancing Adolf and fumbled it. The floored Adolf scrambles the ball square to Che. Who takes a second or two to set the ball up to tap it into the goal. Decision, a foul on the keeper.

Chuck played with Dulwich Hamlet last weekend, so I assume he hasn't been picked up by anyone. If Andy is still on the look out for an experienced keeper he could do worse.

Overall the regulars didn't seem bothered, but Phillips and Amoko impressed. <img src="/forums/images/icons/frown.gif" alt="" />
