Segregation and Cover

The toilets nearest to the bar and in the bar are fine.

All the other toilets around the ground are basically sheds with a rendered wall. No sinks or sit down jobbies!

This is just one of the many jobs that needs sorting.

Never been in the ladies so can't comment on them.

Still better than Wembley. I was at an England v West Germany game in the 1970's, 100,000 fans, on the terrace behind a goal. Bloke in front of me had a p*ss and a dump, used his hanky to wipe himself, then carried on watching!!!

Must have been a Canvey fan.

Taking the tops from peoples bottles is ridiculous.

If you wanted to throw something at a player why would you queue up to buy a drink? Would it not be easier just to bring some missiles from home? When was the last time a steward checked the contents of every fans pocket? Surely someone must bring something in that could be used as a missle.

How long will it be before we are searched upon entering, and having our shoes taken from us as they might be used to throw onto the pitch?

How far will it go.
Mobile Phones?
Money?
Keys?
Small Children?

Aah, but as someone pointed out to me the other day, taking the bottle tops prevents the club from being liable if they are thrown. A sad state of affairs in today's litigation-obsessed society, but that's just the way it is.

Some good points here.

The coke bottle thing is, as you correctly pointed out due to a few incidents a couple of years ago when full bottles were lobbed into various away enclosures at league games. I can't really see the need, but the Conference League are making all clubs enforce it. If you think its stupid at Gravesend, what about Forest Green or Leigh! Anyone remember the halcyon days of open air rock concerts in the late 70s when the beer fight was generally the best part of the day!

Segregation? Yes F.F is correct about the ammount of away fans being a factor BUT thats not all unfortunately. I'm making an informed guess that it has a lot to do with a couple incidents at the ground last year when a few of our (Not regular and certainly NOT genuine) supporters attempted to cause a bit of trouble. I can name the Woking game as a prime example. You only have to look up the hill from the Northfleet End to see where this trouble comes from! The local Police will not allow any chance of two sets of supporters to mix inside the ground if there is ANY likelihood of any trouble ensuing. And yes, I know they mix freely outside the ground and in The Plough, but thats a different Policing matter, inside the ground, the club would have to pay for more stewards and police.

Personally, I would love to be able to stand with or near to genuine fans like those from Accrington, Morecambe or Northwich who have been a real laugh in the past few years, but I suppose the safety of all fans is paramount. Can I also point out that I don't work for Kent Police and I also believe that some of the segregated games this year have been misguided.

Now, as for the toilets? I have been moaning at the directors and Brian K. for a couple of years now. I think the standard of both male and female toilets is shocking, but I am reliably informed by those that can use them, that the ladies are quite unacceptable in ALL parts of the ground. Its ironic that the new ones in the bar that are ok to use, are generally out of bounds after the game due to functions taking place! If enough people complain, MAYBE the club may do something!

Does that make a few things clearer?

Don't need to go back that far, just need to pick the correct band and venue today!

Might I suggest something like The Paper Cuts tomorrow night at the garage, Highbury Corner?
Made up of ex-Symposium members so they'd not be averse to a drop of the cold stuff!
