Anyone know how to get to Salisbury ground from the train station - all i can find out is that its 2 miles away, which will be fun with a hangover and 12 seconds sleep. Almost as much fun turning up to the Slough-Windsor game the other day!

ps my cousin Mark who comes to a lot of slough home games is a very lucky man - the hotel he had been staying in at Thailand was washed away, but thankfully he was on another island nursing a hangover.

Hi Warren I did think of you on Monday. I dont know if this helps but I rang Salisbury Football Club to get directions for you and he said the best way was to come out of the train station and head for the town towards Market Sq until you see a sign for the library, just past there is a Tesco about 10 to 15 yds which has a bus stop which operates Park and ride, you need to get on the bus until Old Serham (or something like that) and the walk to the stadium is about 10mins. Other than that Aidan and Phil will look out for you on the way and pick you up. If I can find our anything else more useful I will let you know. Really glad your cousin is ok.

Don't know what buses, if any, there are on New Years Day. One taxi company in Salisbury do the same rate 24 hours a day, inc bank holidays. It's 505050 (Salisbury code is 01722).

if you're turning up early enough, your best bet is to walk into the centre. Left out of the station, to the bottom of the hill and right into Fisherton Street, less than 5 minutes walk from there. There's a rank in the New Canal, one in Minster Street, and one outside Tesco in Castle Street. Or phone 01722 505050

There'll be a few of us drinking in the Market Inn in the Market Square from mid-day, then onto the George & Dragon in Castle Street (past Tesco) later on. We usually get a taxi from there to the ground so we're not paying to trundle round the one way system. Should be a couple of taxi's of us, so you're welcome to jump in.

Just to let you know that I have just looked at the Wilts and Dorset Bus Company website for Buses tomorrow, and there are no services at all. Your best bet will be those taxi's (unless you want a nice long walk.
