Okay I want to go basically just because it's such a long way. Anyone want to come up with me? I'll go on the train which I think leaves Gravesend at about 7.00am. Or if anyone is driving up do you mind if I hog a lift.

 

I'll pay the petrol cost's, I don't make very much noise I won't make very many toilet stops and you won't want to kick me out by the time we get to Nottingham.

 

Either way train or drive I think we should stay over night, anyone interested?

If going by train then I would suggest the 06.36 from Gravesend that day;

 

06:36 depart GRAVESEND

07.21 arrive LONDON BRIDGE

07:31 depart L0NDON BRIDGE on THAMESLINK train

07.47 arrive KINGS CROSS THAMESLINK

(short stroll round to Kings Cross)

08.10 depart LONDON KINGS CROSS

10.38 arrive LEEDS

10:49 depart LEEDS

13.28 arrive CARLISLE

 

Same number of changes as catching the 07.16 but you get the earlier & have the later trains to fall back on should anything go wrong.

 

Unfortunately I will be working nights on that date - I use enough leave booking off saturday afternoons every 4 weeks throughout the year, so I will not be booking the day off.

As this is a saturday service, if a B&B is used, is the sunday service home likely to change much? and have you any idea on cost of travel.
