Slarti's right. There's been a lot of people treating Shears like some kind of God figure on here recently, and while I rated him too, you can't really say he's head and shoulders above our current centre-backs - possibly better, possibly not, but that's just a matter of (perfectly justified) opinion.

Of course, no-one likes to see a player leave a club in such mysterious circumstances, and I give Shears my best wishes for the future.

Nothing mysterious about his leaving circumstances JC, he was too outspoken and had a personality in the dressing room - something which Fordy does not tollerate.

I describe Shears' departure as 'mysterious' because I am openly willing to admit that I am not in a position to say categorically why he left. Of course, we can all speculate.
