Boxing Day Football

Went along to watch Peterbrough against Swindon today at London Road. Bloody hell, what a crap atmosphere from the home support. Would guess at around 4-500 Swindon fans were in attendance and they made a good racket throughout, but hardly heard a peep from the Boro fans until the second half.

 

Wasn't a bad match, got pitchside seats with the rest of the family, but don't think Walsall would have too many problems in beating either side. Darren Caskey & Wayne Purser (both recently of Hornchurch) featured, with fat Caskey having a stinker in his starting role, and Purser looking lively when he came on about ten minutes into the second half.

 

Made a big difference for me to be going to a league stadium and having 4,212 fans in the same place.

 

Let's make sure we emulate the Swindon fans tomorrow and get vocal in our support and hopefully the result as well!

Well I was up with my brother and the rest of the family, and the first choice - Boston vs Lincoln - was ticket only and no tickets available (my nephew is signed up with Boston), so we took the Peterbrough game instead.

 

Given the grounds we have to go to in our league, I was impressed with the stadium (Swindon weren't given their opening chant of "Sh.t ground, no fans") as it made a nice change.

 

Cheered on the Boro for the game and they were unlucky as they had much the better chances in the second half.
