Councils Dilemma

I am just an avid MFC supporter who has and always will support the club.I am not on here to criticize or have a go at any of the parties involved. The only thing I have to say is that I believe the Council are in a very difficult position.I have no doubt their sincere desire to get the club back to HP.Comparisons with The Turner Centre and Westwood Cross imo do not stand up!! West wood Cross had all the proper plans and finance in place from the start.an stood up to scrutiny from all sides. The Turner Centre, now there are still serious doubts about this whole scheme consequentley nothing has yet been started on it yet.Now to HP Stadia Management or whoever, the Club were involved in some capacity in the decision to TOTALLY WRECK HP and now have neither the finance or the facilities to at least repair it.This is why I believe the council have got to be very careful.Lets be honest none of us mere supporters have seen the content of the business or finance plan presented to the council .We have no right to.It probably does form a full and valid application but that does not meen all is ok with it and it will be accepted. As with any application by any individual or company for anything you present your case and hope it is successful. Also the council are fully aware that any decisions they make over anything could always be subject to scrutiny by the ombudsman.and I believe by acting in the way they have at any enquiry in the future the council will be proved to have acted tottally correct. I do not believe that the threat of legal action against the council is going to do any thing but make matters worse, and the Developement Company and or the Club(whoever is in charge)could get involved in a long protracted legal dispute that could pove so very costly financially IT COULD FINISH US FOR GOOD!!!!

Do not agree! To the contrary ! They are blatantly avoiding giving us the go-ahead and therefore, yes, they do have a dilemma. Either they stay on the crooked road they are on at the moment in which case they will almost certainly be foundout by the ombudsman or get back to being on the level in which case we will be successful and they (the council) will get away with their delaying and determined approach to scupper us thus far. Even then they may still be made accountable for their tactics. The latter will do for me! Wish people wouldn't be so trustful of the council! Sometimes people in authority and with power ABUSE that status. My belief here is that this is the case.

This has been a long drawn out game between both parties and sometimes teams get dirty and hold out into extra-time.Both teams have done this but for their own reasons. This game should have been won by us long ago but at the end of the day it dosen't matter how the game is played(well maybe a little) just so long as the end result is in our favour. If there is any justice it will be the team that has been playing ball that succeeds.

Might I just add that whilst I have no proof of any misdemeanours occurring it is stressed that the above comments are my own personnal opinions and beliefs, based on the continual non-action of the council, their lack of attempts at trying to come to an agreement with the club in order to proceed, and blatant refusal to allow the club to progress.

i think CnC wouldnt threten action unless they are prepaird to back it which they certainly can afford to.

in 2002 they had a 182 million pound portifolio. they are far from going bankrupt <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
