Your last trains back from London tonight;

20.52 Charing Cross to Higham for Stone Crossing, Swanscombe or Northfleet.

21.22 Charing Cross to Higham for Greenhithe, Gravesend, Higham & beyond.

After that only trains to Dartford - the last one departing Charing Cross at 23.19.

Roll on 18.00 - the end of a 3rd 12-hour shift on the trot.

It's been a really [censored] week - now I'm home having a beer. Sore throat, drivers stuffing the morning rush hour up at Dartford, 60 hours overtime worked in the last 4 weeks because my colleagues have had leave to use before the end of the year.... the list of gripes goes on!

Merry Christmas - don't forget your fare increases after Christmas, so bring extra cash.

Christmas Eve is a day when South Eastern trains deliver a worse service than normal. People like to go out on Christmas Eve, these people don't like to come into contact with Chav Scum so they decide to go somewhere else other than Gravesend, London for instance. Unfortunatly the last train is at 21:22 so that would mean I would have to leave the pub at about 20:30. Oh dear bloody South Eastern trains.

No it means you had to get a cab so the rest of us could get home a bit earlier than what we're used to.

This isn't something unique to SouthEastern - in fact, only up to 3 years ago, the network used to shutdown even earlier!

You sound like some of the tossers who complain that no trains run on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

South Eastern are there to serve the public. If the demand is there for later trains on Christmas Eve, and trains on Boxing Day they should meet it, as they used to a few years back. By the way I presume you've never been on one of those Customer Care or Anger Management courses?

Yet more b***ocks from Robert S.

We are not there to serve the public - we're there to make money. We're a business. So get that stupid American idea about being there to serve out of your head. As a company, Christmas Day & Boxing Day services are not financially viable. Hence a limited Boxing Day service for about 8 hours of the day.

I've been with this company for 10 years and we've NEVER worked on Boxing Day. You'll find the last time BR even did it was over 20 years ago.

It's only been the last 3 years the trains have run later on Christmas Eve - before that, the last trains were about 2 hours EARLIER than those listed in my initial posting.

As for customer care courses - not applicable to my department. Then again (thankfully) I don't run into retarded muppets such as Robert S very often.

Finally, the customer isn't always right.
