Bono's "tonight thank God it's them instead of you" line on the new Band Aid record sounds truly dreadful. It's like he's trying almost too hard to sound even more urgent than the original.

 

I re-watched the Sudbury video with Laz on Sunday, and was going to say that EFM do that line much better than the Irish twat has done on this new version, but in all honesty, even Jason Donovan made a better job of it in 1989. At least he sounded like he meant it.

Apparently on the original he was trying to copy Bruce Springsteen's "big voice" but says it ended up coming out totally "bombastic".

 

He says this version is more of a whisper.
