How to get to Yeading?

Yousef

Recommended Posts

I will hopefully be in London during Febrauary for a seminar and might travel for Slough's away game to Yeading. I would like to know what is the nearest railway or underground station to Yeading football groud. Actually I entered their official website which only gives information on how to get their by car. Cheerz.

Yeading's ground is actually in Southall - the next place to the east of Yeading. The nearest tube by far is Southall, 0.7 miles away. Tubes actually do come out that far (both Uxbridge and Heathrow are further west) but the nearest tube station (Hounslow West) is 2.6 miles away and a horrible walk at that.

You can get to Southall station from Paddington, or even direct from Slough.

I work in Uxbridge and, if it wasn't foggy right now, I could probably see Yeading from my office.

Cheers Rebel Brewer. I think your option is better because as you said Southall is 0.7 miles away. In fact I have just discovered in the Slough website that they give directions for some football grounds, and I got that for Yeading:

By Train:

Nearest station is Hayes (BR). Ground is about 2 miles away. Bus 207 passes the end of Beaconsfield Road.

But 0.7 miles still needs a ride, doesn't it? Any bus to get me there?

Well my 12 year old son (properly warmed up) could do that in about 3 mins 20 secs. I could run it in about 3.5 mins. It really isn't that far - walking 15 mins tops and by the time you have waited for a bus and walked from the bus stop itself (probably half of the total distance as Beaconsfield Road does not have a bus stop) you will have taken far longer.

Slough tube station???

London Transport (sorry, "Transport for London") have been keeping that quiet

[sorry, Yousef, couldn't resist!]

Incidentally (dons anorak) District line trains DID once run to Slough, and on to Windsor...

...but not since about 1892!!

Anon needs a calender.

Yousef, it will be easy to find the Yeading ground from Southall station - just follow the hoards of red shirted fans as they make their merry way to the Warren to support their cup heroes.
