Even if they are not true...always makes things interesting. Like Windsor make 7 day approach for Dyke. Maidenhead will swap Craig for Lewis Cook. All probably a crock of cr*p but to see people getting excited and the buzz round the ground on Saturday was brilliant.

 

Is it true Paul Holsgrove is Assistant Manager or coach?

I notice you are quiet on this post. Have you got any good goss for us to have before the big derby game or is it another one of those posts you have to steer clear from?

 

I am not having a dig. It would just be good to know that Dave Caroll & the club have some plans regarding players wanted ect.

There are signings waiting to be ompleted, but going on past problems with other clubs nipping in to sign players I will let you all know when the players have actually signed.

 

One should be signing tonight.

I agree with Malcolm here (that's twice in a week some kind of record!) if he was to name players or confirm rumours, it opens the door for other clubs to come in and potentially tempt these players to join other clubs. So personally I'd rather we keep potential new players off the site, allow negotiations to go on and celebrate when deals are complete. The last thing we want is for a player to be named on here then lose him to another club as they snuck in at the last minute offering more money etc.

Although that did not do you much good when you confirmed that Dean Clark had signed. A whole week he lasted.

 

But you are spot on - if you are genuinely interested in signing a player but have not completed the paperwork the last thing you want to do is broadcast it. Look at Robben for Chelsea - everyone in football knew United wanted him and how much they had bid - Chelsea stepped in and get the player by guzumping the plc.

Windsor do offer decent wages.

 

Anon, money makes the world go round and whilst Chealski outbid by adding a zero to the end of a long string of numbers offering £50 or £100 extra to players at this level can make a difference.

 

Also location plays a big part - say Windsor were interested in signing someone from Chelmsford and the rumour got out and Billericay thought hang on we will have him. Where do you think the Essex based player is more likely to go?

What dreamers.... You did not pay clarke anywhere near what you think. And how is the news going to leak out??? 1 mal, 1 woody and a king of crap about total the activity here... I would suggest if a player know he is going (and at this level they do) they will contact their favoured clubs first.. only then do they ship out further and that is done via a FA fact sheet so it's hardly a bloody secret who is available.

Anon...The Northwood fans offered to pay the amount he was gonna be paid at Windsor...He told them how much it was. Go ask a Northwood fan...I'm sure he'll be getting the same at Maidenhead

About 50p then..... Have you seen how many fans Northwood get? Maidenhead's biggest earner is said to be Cook on about £400 and I cannot see them paying anymore than that as they have to stick within budget.
