How the fk did you work out it should be in the middle of a year??

Buy a calculator, JR.

 

There are ten years in a decade so to calculate the middle point, count the number of days between the start (01-01-00) and the end (31-12-09) which will give you 3652. Then divide by 2 (1826) and add that number of days to the first day.
