I noticed he played many games last season and now returns after a long time I guess. Was he injuerd or loaned? Also I want to ask. Is he Asian? just wondering cos I only saw his pic. Is he a midfielder? Cheers <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shrug.gif" alt="" />

Loaned to Her Majesty's Custodial XI!! Veli spent a year away for getting involved in some trouble at Millwall and when he came out he joined Steve Browne at Boreham Wood. Fortunately he realised that BWFC are a crap team with no fans and came home to Slough.

Skillful midfielder who was the Supporters Player of the Season the year before he 'left'. When I started watching the Rebels he stood out as the best player by a mile. He got injured at Tonbrige earlier this year and has struggled to regain full fitness. I think that just about covers everything. Oh yes, I believe his parents are Turkish Cypriot.

Going forward yes, definitely, but finding the right balance between attack and defence in the side is imperative. Having Wilkinson sat behind Hakki and a more conservative Harris would be the ideal three, but Metcalfe can play in that role as well and often breaks things up and plays the simple ball. Either way, we've got options there.

The Slough midfield gets overrun without Wilko and/or Mets. We are not the footballing version of the Harlem Globetrotters and need players in the team to do the ugly things. Few players do the ugly things better at this level than Wilko or Metcalfe. We certainly need one or t'other and I can see the logic at playing both in certain matches.
