Maidenhead Chairman makes statement.

I'd like to deal with a couple of issues to confirm exactly the events

of the past few days. There has been a huge amount of conjecture, rumour

and frankly malicious gossip - very little of it true and sadly damages

the Club we all love.

Firstly the Club do not manage the Website - the Advertiser do. I gave a

full statement to them whilst in Dublin on Wednesday which they could,

and should, have posted.

Secondly the decision to hire Dennis and Colin was not effectively

sealed until Tuesday night. Quite rightly Dennis wanted to talk to his

Chairman face to face but for reasons beyond Dennis' control he could

not meet with him as he had hoped. Dennis and Colin effectively assumed

control of team matters at 7pm Tuesday evening when they met the

players.

Thirdly all the new players were signed in accordance with FA

regulations.

Dennis Greene is our manager, chosen ahead of numerous applicants. We

must all give him and the lads 100%+ support to help him maintain that

vital place in the Conference South. He believes we now have the squad

to do that and consolidate but we must all pull together - one club, one

voice, one ambition. We have a big game on Saturday and we need

everyone to be part of taking three points - and let's face it we owe

Weston one after what happened down there !!!!
