New signings?

I think I can help with this ..........it appears that two City Youth players who played with the reserves on Monday, Kurtis Patterson and Joe Meija, both strikers by the way, have both signed Conference South forms in readiness for inclusion in Saturdays squad. Obviously impressed with their performances against Hitchin reserves.

Now all this sounds wonderful but lets go back a little .....Colin Lippiatt was not at the reserve game so I assume someone else has made this desicion for him ....and is this the same Colin Lippiatt who only a few weeks ago released all the young players from the reserve squad .......and is this the same club that has destroyed the best youth / reserve link it has ever had.....what the f**k is going on

I also have to say I know both boys and I wish them well but they would not be at the top of my list of players who would progress through to first team status from within the youth ranks so whats the hidden agenda ......

I can't really think of any words to describe how this makes me feel ......

Would love to be able to join you but I am out this afternoon at a works party in Watford .... free bar...... so like usual on a Friday (its regularity is becoming slightly worrying) I'll be battered by about 7 oclock and return for the odd cider or two at the Mermaid.

Just to get back to the thread a little ..... it appears that one of these boys, Joe, starts a 35 day ban on Monday for being sent of in a youth game.

Makes even less sense now than it did last night when I found out ....still feel like ....

I have also seen these players a few times when visiting a yoof game. And i to can agree with the caretaker. How can you let bullet parkinson go and sign a player with less ability less pace less experience, less everything. It is outrageous. Does lippiat no anything about football?? And whos decision was it to sign these players and release the others?

Are you making this up, CT?

Do you expect us to believe that these two lads, on the fringe of the Midweek Yoof side but not regulars, are asked to help out and play for the Reserves to fulfil the fixture last Monday, and are sufficiently impressive that they are signed on Nationwide forms? £5,000 a week and a club Ferrrari [once they pass their driving tests]? And one of them starts a 35 day ban on Monday?

Are you sure?

You don't think that it's another example of the club's highly successful youth policy, then?

I assume that the manager is unlikely to have sought the views of Chris Zoricich and Dean Hooper of these prodigies so it's probably down to the chap who used to drive the red tractor. Do they have agents, these two? Would you mind sending me a PM with their contact details?

O.K. O.K. You had me fooled for a minute there, CT. Very good.

Now. Be serious. Do you know anything about these new signings, CT?

Rob

Sorry but it shouldnt be "lets wait and see" ...."if they are any good" ..."just for cover" ........"the Manager will spot the talent" ....how if he never sees them play ?????

For the record, I believe that in the last 4 seasons the respective managers of St Albans City FC have been to watch the youth team on only 2 occassions.... no wonder so many players slip through our fingers.

It should be ...these are the best of the young talent available to you Mr. Manager Sir ...now lets develop them into fine footballers that will save the club £££££££££'s.
