they've played teams from a higher league in both the FA Cup and Trophy and lost both, so I can see them being a fairly top of the mid-table Ryman Premier side

They're doing it the sensible way, signing enough players to get them out of the division they are in and then recruiting more when needed.

 

Why waste money by signing a load of Conference-standard players to win a division by 25 points when you can get up with Ryman Premier-standard men?

 

Perhaps on a more serious note, because they are such an unusual club they should be allowed a 'fast-track' promotion. If they get into the Ryman Premier next season then the rest are just playing for second and people lose interest.

Put them in the Conference and make a competition of it. The day they overtake MK Dons will make any geniune football fan happy.

I understand the argument but the day that any team is allowed to fastrack its way through the leagues is the day football will die.

 

AFC Wimbledon will get where they're going when they are meant to and I'm sure they would rather do it through playing football than being given special dispensation.
