Man United to ban Exeter City goal celebrations.

is this reasonable?

 

For the hard-up footballers of Exeter City it is an innocent goal celebration that earns a few quid from their sponsors.

But for their more illustrious opponents in the FA Cup it is a grievous insult to the memory of their most tragic team.

 

Manchester United's fans have succeeded in blocking Exeter from celebrating goals with aeroplane impressions when they meet at Old Trafford on January 8.

 

The non-league club have adopted the celebration all season but United's followers complained that it would be disrespectful because of the Munich air disaster, in which 21 people, including seven players, died in 1958.

 

United fans protested after learning that Exeter's sponsors, budget airline Flybe, offers a £100 reward to any member of the team who scores in Conference matches and impersonates an aeroplane.

 

Flybe still plans to reward any Exeter scorer with £1,000, but the players will be under orders not to celebrate as normal.

i'm suprisingly getting alot of work done, bandit!

 

still good they'll get the money for scoring, however unlikely that is, i just think united are a bit too sensitive on this one - i mean it's not like the celebration involves flying, then crashing and dying?

Surely only if the FA get involved it becomes an issue.

 

I tell ya if a team like Exeter city go up there and get a result...... I'd love it ... when they say things like that about the players of Exeter City... I'd love it ...absolutely love it if they went there and did the aeroplane celebrations...

On the subject of goal celebrations ..... don't see many funny/strange ones over bridge ave

 

What would we like to see the players doing when they score this saturday?

I think they should come and boogie infront of the eastside disco - a bit of saturday night fever would be appreciated
