Margate:

It has now been six league games without a win for Margate in Conference South after Tuesday night's 3 - 0 defeat to Bishops Stortford. So short of players that they only had one outfield sub, the Kent side went behind midway through the first half and conceded the final blow in stoppage time.

 

They are now 17th, just two places and three points outside the relegation zone, but manager Chris Kinnear is as upbeat as ever. He says that once they can actually sign some new players, they will sail up the league.

Sure CK is right,it all goes down to the council,surely they can look at the plans and if all in order let us know one way or the other if they will go ahead,then we can start building the team.We have to know soon.

People on this forum are saying that we've got a good squad and this is just a dip in form ... yet the Manager is saying '...once (we) can actually sign some new players, (we) will sail up the league...' Doesn't that mean he thinks the current squad is not good enough?

i think CK knows we are weak in positions, plus at the moment we have no depth and athough some players would be 1`st team without question a lot wouldnt.

 

and till the likes of oats and clark (who are class) are fit we need good players to hold them positions as playing unfit / injured players is remady for trouble.

I think the bottom line is that our squad doesn't consist of players CK would normally sign. All the new additions are basically people we got on the cheap who nobody else wanted. CK's having to make do with them and there'll be drastic changes if he actually gets some money to spend.

i agree the fact is we have a decent squad when every one is fit, but when we get injerys we have proplems as we have no real depth expecialy on tuesday when we only had one outfield sub.
