"Kent on line sais that Oates was replaced by jjunju at half time.

"Not sure if correct or not, but would not be surprised as Greg did not look fit on saturday and was very slow in second half.

I do not think he has recovered from his injury and looks like another month out to me."

No, Michael, Oates was taken off at least midway through the second half. He had just been booked after getting involved in some nonsense with an opposing player. The switch may have been tactical or to stop him getting into more aggro. He wasn't hobbling off.

I'm sorry to say that Greg has looked a shadow of the player he used to be for a good year or so now.

He was sensational in his first season but the explosiveness (if that's a word) he used to have when you'd constantly see him bombing forward has long since gone, you rarely see him getting forward now and when he does he's nothing like as effective as he was originally. The Greg Oates of his first season with us would be unstoppable in the Conference South.

The way we play - and the way we always will play under CK so there's no point debating 442 etc - means that the wing backs are crucial and when they don't get forward we don't play well.

We always struggle when we effectively end up playing five across the back because the wing backs aren't pushing on.

Why's everybody desperate to see Mark Green back ? it's not because we think he's strong in the tackle or defensively aware - it's because we know he's going to attack, effectively and probably more importantly often. Him on the left and the 'real' Greg on the right would make all the difference.

Totally agree about Terry Mcflynn TM. He was quality, good shot, good assists and chips in with a few goals. Always seemed to score for Northern Ireland U21's as well so good experience there. Did he move up north? Is it possible? Not so sure about Porter ( bit to quick jump ship i.m.o ). Anyway, the way Gravesend are sliding down the table we could be playing them next year. And before someone says providing we don't go down-we won't, CK does'nt do relegation. Let's just keep the faith and get behind the boys.Up the Gate.

McFlynn was a waste of space for most of his time at Margate but people easily impressed by fancy flicks still rave on about him, he won't be coming back so get over it. People who rate McFlynn (Foul language deleted) also think Sigere was good. These people shouldn't be allowed to watch non-league football until they understand it.

Anon-notice your're brave enough to slag Mcflynn off but surprise,surprise-not brave enough to put a name to it. Think your knowledge of football is summed up by thinking Mcflynn is hopeless yet Siggy was good. Everyone's entitled to their opinion I suppose-even mis-guided anonymous ones.

i think the anon poster was saying both mcflynn and siggy were pants.. tho i agree with the siggy post for the time he was with us but when i saw him last week for hornx he workd like i never seen him b4.

mcflynn was class and we missed him like hell when he was sold if you remember it was only when lenny pluggd the gap did we move forward again.

Back to my post above about Greg Oates, i see reference is made on Kenton line about his knee tendon trouble.

Unfortunately he is having to play whilst unfit as per earlier in season.

I thought he was really struggling in second half against Hayes.I would rest him tomorrow as i think we will lose anyway and we need Greg fit.Last time he was played whilst injured ,he ended up out for about 5 weeks.

My team would be:

Trego

Edwards Barnett Smith Bouadji

Benevides Keister Baptiste Clarke

Jjunju Watson

subs.Charambolous Hussein Oates (and recall Tamba)

Agree Michaelmichael.Although we need him Greg will never be right if he keeps stressing his knee by playing, particulally at this time of year. Also agree with your team selection and even with our injury problems still looks a reasonable side to me.Most teams in this division are nothing to write home about and once we get a bit of good form I can't see there being a problem.
