I agree with your assessment. Even when we have been beaten (e.g. Hayes) we still have a lot of the ball. It's just sometimes we don't do enough with it. And everyone seems to be playing OK at the back, and then there's a bit of space and we concede a goal. Man for man, this looks a reasonable side. It's just not going for us at the moment. I do just wonder what impact the ground situation has had on the players. OK, things look really promising now. But the players (and CK for that matter) have been living with the uncertainty for so long I wonder if motivation is the issue. If so, once the good news flows, we should be OK again. I guess it's a case of keeping the faith - there's not much more anyone can do for the time being.

our midfield dont feed enough thats where che`s workrate comes in he makes his own stuff.

Just read your post legend.

makes alot of sense.

Midfield has always been the weakness and thus as you say, we need Che cos he and Rocky create and make chances between them.

When they are not working together no chances are made by anyone else.

Not Watsons fault-i suspect like saturday ,no one created anything for him

there was no gradley last night, but was replaced by alex who was his usual busy self without ever having too much of an influence on the game. Pat was at the game and i was told he had hurt his knee, not sure how badly though. thought that darren and rocky worked pretty hard, but the midfield (apart from clarkie) were awful last night - infact KP was heard to say that PB is the worst player he has ever brought to Margate! on his performance last night i wouldn't disagree with him too strongly. Bill looked like his time on the bench has affected him as he was rusty and behind the game all night.

was really frustrating that every time we put the ball on the floor and passed it around we tore through Stortford, but that happened on very few occassions. too often we were chasing long balls.

all in all a very bad performance from the lads but it was a significantly weakened side - reinforcing the call for new signings!

"PB is the worst player he has ever brought to Margate!"

A bit harsh isn't it?! I think Peter's done well this season. I can think of many players worse than him over the years.

I don't think we can blame any of the players, many of them are playing when below par or injured because of our limited squad. We have no depth so no strength. All the players I have seen this season go out and bust a gut every time, but these kind of results can be very demotivating for them, and it will take some giant effort to snap out of that mentality and get back to winning ways.

I have been thinking it over, and have come to the conclusion that we need an affirmative answer from the council, and an end to uncertainty for the future, and some funding to strengthen and then we can pull ourselves up again.

Until then, the only thing I can do is get behind the boys and show them some support. (That is when they play near enough to home for me to get to a match!)

My thoughts exactly MargateFan,we need a quick answer from the council.CK talking on the radio today says he has players very interrested in coming to play but wont untill they know the future for MFC is OK,if the council dont act fast it could be too late.

Soory to say it but it looks distinctly like relegation again at the end of the season. When CK gets the managers job at Welling who will take over, we don't want to end up like Dover!

Yes we're having a poor spell but too good to go down. No,CK won't go to Welling.Yes PB was poor to start but most improved i.m.o.These are the players that were around when needed and gave everything to the cause.Again, the above post gives more power to the argument for registered posts.

To the anonymous, unregistered idiot.Until you know for sure what CK is doing, instead of scaremongering please try one of the following. A,Be 100% before making comments about other people. or B,and this is the better option, stick your head where the sun dont shine.

Kent on line sais that Oates was replaced by jjunju at half time.

Not sure if correct or not, but would not be surprised as Greg did not look fit on saturday and was very slow in second half.

I do not think he has recovered from his injury and looks like another month out to me.

If Gradley has twisted his knee, that normally takes a couple of weeks to recover from.

I'll fetch my kit

dont know for sure but Porter has not played for the fleet lately, maybe he is injured, maybe not

He is injured.

And as for the query about Barnett above, he played for us quite a few times in 2002/2003 in the Conference.
